well most know im a UVA fan, but have a healthy respect for the hokie football program with a little help from HF, and my dad, (a VT grad) but the antics of some VT players in the louisville and FSU games are just ridiculous. vick clearly stepped on dumervil, and the fact that he said it was unintentional is an insult to people's intelligence. chris ellis' actions in front of the TV camera, and jimmy williams touching an official are just not tolerable. Plus the numerous personal fouls were just out of hand. Championship programs do not act like this. this type of stuff reflects to the coach. he is the leader. i am not at all disparaging beamer, b/c he is an excellent coach, but it falls to him. QB coach kevin rogers wanted to take him out of the game. i am glad to see many hokie fans saying enough is enough with this type of behavior. i am hoping AD jim weaver will do the appropriate thing to rectify this behavior. before any VT fan comes back with the cheap shot brad butler laid on kiwanuka of BC. he was wrong, he was suspended, and he had a clean track record. vick, welll his history speaks for itself. the actions of thes players reflects bad on VT, the commonwealth of virginia, and just college sports in general. do these guys ever think that many youngsters watch these games and idolize them?? i will get off my soapbox. this is not a bitter UVA fan b/c VT is a better program, but win with class and dignity, that is all anyone asks for. Any VT fan who wants to rationalize these actions needs to really take a hard look at themselves IMHO.

I'm hoping Vick doesn't get let off the hook. That was somethign you'd expect from The U. But its weak nonetheless.

the old U. coker does not put up with any crap. when jimmy johnson and dennis erickson were there, yes they were thugs from day one.

I think VT asked for this by letting Vick off easy in his previous two incidents. You get what you pay for, is what I'm trying to say, and they haven't made him pay for anything yet. Good luck to him and the program, but I'm not expecting much (in terms of class) from either of them in the future.

It is official Marcus Vick is a first class loser for what he did. I think he intentionally tried to hurt that Louisville player. There is no excuse for what he did, none what so ever. He better get punished for what he did. If he does get punished then he definitely deserves it.

That was absolutely classless what Vick did. I hope he is on his way out...and that he has a hard time finding a place to land after that

I think he may try to go pro after all of this. He's got the Vick name so someone might take a chance on him in the later rounds.

Nothing will happen to Vick. If he didn't get into trouble for what he did before why would they do anything now. They may suspend him for the JMU game again. I cheer for Tech (except when playing LU) but not w/ Vick playing.

Its all about the Benjamins. He wins games for them and thats all is about anymore. Look for a slap on the wrist- think Vick visiting kids in schools talking about staying off drugs, etc.

Yeah but he got the slap on the wrist for the drugs. Then he got it for the supposed improprieties with the 14-year-old girls. When does it end? If this were a first offense, I'd say yeah. VT really has to do something here.

I heard Beamer is meeting w/ Vick and his mother tomorrow. Hopefully something will be done but I doubt it. Maybe a 1 or 2 game suspension.
Usecheck, a regular official in the Big 12 for 22 seasons who has worked 14 bowl games, described Virginia Tech's behavior during a foul-plagued first half as "brutal."
"I was really disappointed. We don't see football like that," he said, adding the Hokies were guilty of late hits and taunting in the half. "Those kids were just completely out of control."

the story just keeps getting bigger:
Breaking News Vick was charged with driving with a suspended license on Dec. 17 Updated: 3:03 PM
The Roanoke Times Virginia Tech football star Marcus Vick was pulled for speeding Dec. 17 in Hampton and issued summonses for speeding and driving with a suspended license, authorities said today.
Police stopped the sport utility vehicle Vick was driving sometime after 2 a.m. in the 700 block of Settlers Landing Road, said Hampton police Cpl. James West.
Vick was driving 38 mph in a 25-mph zone, according to online court records.
The 21-year-old quarterback was not taken into custody. “There was nothing aggravated about it,” West said. “He wasn’t driving recklessly.”
One of two other men in the vehicle drove after the stop, West said.
Vick, the brother of NFL star quarterback and Virginia Tech alum Michael Vick, has a history of on- and off-the-field troubles.
The most recent occurred in Monday’s Gator Bowl, when Vick appeared to deliberately stomp on the leg of University of Louisville defensive end Elvis Dumervil. Vick was not penalized on the play because official didn’t see it. However, television crews covering the game for NBC captured the incident on tape and the scene has received numerous national replays.
Vick’s previous troubles include a one-game suspension in 2003 for an unspecified violation of team rules, and a suspension for the entire 2004 season. The season-long suspension came two months after Vick was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and on the day he pleaded guilty to reckless driving and possession of marijuana. In October, Vick flashed his middle finger to West Virginia fans during Tech’s win in Morgantown.

He's gone. I think he'll throw his name into the pros and someone like Al Davis will take a chance on him.

i guess that leaves sean glennon the leading candidate to take over for vick. that could be good for the hokies, he was teammates of current hokies wideout and friend of SCAR'S eddie royal.

I wonder if he will try to go the I-AA route just to get another year under his belt cause lets be honest he is not ready for the NFL. We are accepting I-A transfers why not? Maybe his family would consider keeping him in state and sending him to a place that he might be able to get his life turned back around in a positive environment... Just a thought

I may not be a VT fan but good riddance to bad rubbish (although that's more relating to his character than his football acumen)
I looked at Tech's roster and they have 4 other QBs, one a redshirt sophomore (Cory Holt), one a true sophomore (Sean Glennon) and 2 freshman (Grant Throckmorton and Greg Boone) plus one guy coming in (Cam Chancellor) Which of those guys you think has the inside track for the starting job?

I saw Cory Holt in high school. He graduated in 2003 and then went to Hargrave for a year. The kid's an athlete. He was nasty in football and basketball but I don't know how great of a college QB he'd be.

Holt is a joke, Glennon did the smart thing and asked to be redshirted so he could have an extra year knowing that he was not really going to play behind Vick. It will be Sean's job to lose in the Spring. Yes you guys did pick up on my joke about Marcus coming to LU... I thought we needed a little bit of humor on this topic.

Like I said, I have no clue how Holt will be in college. I just saw him in high school and he was awesome. I didn't think he was VaTech good, but hey, that's who wanted him. He has some cousin who's a pretty decent team in the pros.
