I'm sorta with you there bro- Central Catholic has a great program. Having said that- West won AAAA 3 or 4 years in a row- at least once over Erie Cathedral or your Pitt-CC I believe.
And Sly is DEFINITELY the "queen of denial" - and I don't mean the river in Egypt- but we like him anyway. (what else is there to do in TX but FANTASIZE!)

LUpitt --- You'll notice I have primarily degraded Easttern PA. I know well the long history of producing QBs in Western PA.
That said, its nowhere near the overall football hotbed of here in Texas, much less Florida. 300+ kids signing IA every year can't be ignored. And while Western PA is the home QBs, we have just as impressive of a line of RBs. Every NFL roster has players from Houston on it. But this is an argument I don't need to enter. The record speaks for itself. And frankly, I'd put Ohio's results up there with Pennsylvania anytime.

Just to let you guys know, Texas has the best high school football in the nation....competitely speaking...all classes: 5A to 6man....the talent is there. I have always wondered whey LU didn't recruit TX more...My dad coaches at the High School level in Tx and tries to use his faith when dealing with Christian kids. He tries to get them to understand that football is not the only thing that there is...what he tries to tell them is that football can help them get their education. As a Pastor myself, I am in the process of using my youth group as a pipeline for LU students...we are progressing nicely...we have already 3 students a LU now and 1 more shortly...he's a LB that is 6'2" 235 lbs and runs a decent 4.6 forty...he'll be a junior this coming year. I have been working on him for a while now about going to LU for football. He seems excited by it. One last thing, and this I don't understand, why when LU has College For A Weekend in the Fall, why don't they do it on a weekend that LU is playing football on Saturday? ? I don't understand that one..

Finally! Someone who understands what I'm talking about. Welcome aboard, PastorZack. You are aligning yourself with the intelligent posters already. ;D
I'm glad to see you are working it for the Flames with your kids. We need more folks like you building the pipeline. I would love to see some type of LU propaganda kit we could send to pastors & youth leaders that could help build awareness and to recruit athletes.
As for your Dad, where does he coach? I may be familiar with him if he's ever coached in Central, South or East Texas ... especially in the Houston area right now.
As for the College for a Week idea, I have wondered the same thing. They used to organize it that way back in the day when I was on campus for the fall CFAW. But it hasn't worked out that way all the time. Perhaps this is something our Prototype friends can help address.

PastorZack - we need to clone you and put you in all of the other churches out there. We need pipelines like this to be successful at LU!
