What did you expect? We're a small team with average skills. Florida is #3, oh and also the defending champs. They paid us money to go there and play. Surely you were not expecting a dogfight. No, but what we are we up to, 6 straight losses?

"remained close"
"came out strong"
"quieted the Gator crowd"
"won three statistical catagories"

won 3 statistical catagories? Man, you know times are lean when SIDs is reaching that hard. Really they only beat us 10-3 in statistical catagories! We're on our way!

The guys were outplayed...plain and simple. Billy Donovan has got these guys at the top of their capability in a very tough conference. I was not expecting us to win this one in all honesty, but I think that the guys had better get their heads on straight otherwise this could be a very rough go through the conference the first time. One bright spot is that we Smitty led the way with Larry and Dwight both also having solid games. Time to look ahead to the first conference game and the eventual reopening of FlameFans

The team looks pathetic, and it is an embarrassment to the entire University I met a lot of fans at the BYU tournament who were cheering for us, and who were very complimentary towards the effort of the team, and the conduct of the team. Even the managers got compliments. (I know the last line will inspire guffaws, but it might be well to mention that the whole program is not in shambles, is not an embarassment, and really is a credit to the University.) I repeat - we will do well. People were stopping us in the hallways to compliment the team... again, I'm not saying that good feelings lead to wins - I'm just saying that bloggers are not inspired by God. I've also learned that the "blogging phenomenon" is about the same across the country- from USC to Michigan - the bloggers are out in force to decry the situation i.e. USC loses to UCLA; Michigan loses to USC - and suddenly, everybody needs to watch their jobs. A lot of bloggers are guys who "think, therefore they think they am." (And yes, that is a grm original)

GRM,
good line. Although it is derivative of Descartes' philosophy. I have to give partial credit. Giving you a full credit is like giving Diddy credit for his hit songs (LOL). Someone explain to GRM who Diddy is and then someone tell the rest of us who Descartes is please :-)

I knew it was a derivative - hoping that this would be the beauty of it. But enough. And who is this Diddy Dude?

Diddy is a guy that used to be Sean Puffy Combs then Puff Daddy Combs, then Puff Daddy, then P Diddy and finally Diddy. He is in the record industry but he really doesn't sing well or rap well or dance well but he does all 3 on other people's records that he produces. I think that sums it up. 99.9% of "his hits" contains samples or hooks from other hit songs. I don't think he would be on your iPod though Rev :-)

Here is a quote from Pat Ford on ESPN "The real job description at most places isn't terribly heavy on life lessons. It goes roughly like this: Must win, must win some more, must beat archrival, must recruit like a maniac, must put fannies in seats. The secondary clause: Must not get caught committing NCAA violations, must try to avoid a complete and obvious subversion of the university's academic principles."
The pressure is on Coach & The Boys to win some games, and that is the way it always is everywhere. I believe it will happen - others that it won't.
Pretty soon, we'll all know. I suppose I'll get it pretty hard if we don't, and will probably try (to some degree) to bite my tongue when we do.
On to Ashville -

the highlights I saw they said it was a "warm up" and acted like we were some DIII school. Have you seen Florida's schedule? They have beaten most by 20 +
