There may be some bad news. Just got word that the game tonight may be cancelled. Apparently a bunch of power line poles were knocked over where there's some construction across from Sam's Club, which is adjacent to the campus. Well, a couple buildings on campus have lost power, and it may take up to 10 hours for the city to get things fixed.
So it's not official yet, but there may be no game tonight.

Okay, looks like a false alarm. The website says that the game will go on.

I was about to make a crack about LU buying some generators. I can't believe a facility that large would operate with no backup power.
Now back to the task at hand ... extending our Big South homecourt winning streak once again.

Sly- remember the night a couple of seniors wacked the main transformers with a stick of some kind, knocking out power during a live telecast on ESPN at Liberety Gym?

You guys remember that game? That was on ESPN when I got my Sports Center moment in my senior year. I had a 2 handed dunk on 2 players from East Tennessee St. I still have a poster of it and have the tape cued up to that point! Too bad it was over shadowed by the lights going out. ESPN didn't bother to pick up the feed once the lights came back on. Those were the days. I hope we get tonights game in on TV. So far I have not heard that we are having problems.

I guess the Vines Center is fine. It's funny, though, they cancelled all classes for the rest of the day. It must have affected a pretty big chunk of the school for that to happen.

It sure didn't take Scar long to jump on mention of that game, did it?
Scar, you need to get a frame grab of that dunk for your sig.

As I said before, when winthrop is healthy there is no one in the Big South that can beat them. The dynasty continues as the regular season is all but wrapped up.

First the Dunk then Winthrop....IT WAS MY BEST DUNK GUYS! Come on, I have to talk about it somewhere. My wife is not impressed with it that is for sure. Since I can't dunk anymore (Unless I really try hard!), I have that memory to last a lifetime ;D. I have a poster sized picture of that dunk if anyone of you is in Lynchburg, feel free to stop by my house and take a look.....Winthrop is really, really good! They are big, athletic and they hit shots when it counts. I had not seen Winthrop play at all this year so I didn't know what to expect. Their point guard Chris Gaynor is steady for a frosh. Torrell Martin is a serious baller and their big boys up front rebound. I talked with Marshall a little after the game and he seemed to be excited but guarded about saying the Regular season is all but wrapped up. I am here to tell you (as if you all didn't know), its a wrap. Vinni, Vitti Vicci. The end. The tournament will have to go through Rock Hill. I missed the trip the first time so if LU and WU are in the Finals I will be there. It is going to be so fun. Also, because of the power outage, we were unable to go on the air tonight. Boy was I lost again but at least I got to sit in my seat this time. Fun game but too many mistakes against a good team like Winthrop and you will lose.

The home streak is over. Congrats to the Winthrop boys. Clearly you guys are the unquestioned top dog of our lowly league.
As for our performance, when your starting backcourt shoots 5-for-22 on the night you know your chances of winning aren't very good.
Time now to relax and get ready for the tourney down Carolina way.
