Time to take a walk and throw up. The neighbor better keep his dog in the yard today (toungue in cheek - I love dogs) and the kids better behave tonight if they know what's good for them :>)
Oh well.

Tough loss. I was pulling for the Flames. How many times have y'all been up late and lost this season. Seems like one thing that Karcher didn't teach was disiplene and not to celebrate too early. Oh well. look at South Carolina, the right coach can turn things around in a hurry.

Honestly I think the kids may be waffling on whether or not they buy into the program. Secondly, I still think we are VERY lean on talent. Part of that is the coaches getting the right kids into the program. But my sense is athletically we have been outclassed in just about every contest - more so on D.
I do think it is time for a change. Medic - I just got back from my walk and I did not kick any dogs - I promise! I did see a few cats though!
Go Flames!

This is definitely embarrassing. Time to get the search committee warmed up. I will be glad to participate if they are interested in some input from old hag. Certainly couldn't do any worse than the last committee. We have regressed so far it may take years to recover. Hope not, USC turned it around quickly with the right coach. Karcher may be the best human being in the world, but he is a terrible coach.

LU had the perfect out to get rid of Karcher last year, but they waffled. No one could have anticipated that Falwell & Co. would have such a misguided trust in him and signed him to a five year deal. But nooo, and now we suffered through this season.
Why should we expect anything else from this administration? Karcher will be back on the sidelines next year, bottom line. Because that's the way Liberty is. We said the same "fire Karcher" mantra, which only subsided when we said "he'll get his pink slip instead of a new contract, just wait until the end of the year." But that didn't materialize.

Brock Smith impressed me...His composure while under pressure by the defense is very good. That head's up play to get the ball to his RB while getting crushed by two CSU defenders was a very heady play, especially by a freshman. Smith and CSU's Drafts put on a good show.
CSU is definitely heading in the right direction. Their defense is still a bit shaky, but Drafts has that offense running pretty smoothly, and they were playing with a ton of confidence today, even when down by 12 points in the 4th quarter.

Frankly, I was glad I got tied up with home improvement projects and missed this fiasco. I agree with everyone else it seems that this is probably the final nail in Karcher's coffin as head coach. Something will be done within the next coupleof weeks.
Once again, its too bad really. I really wanted to see Karcher excel. I like his approach in regard to expressing faith. But he simply hasn't gotten the job done. Like the rest of us, when we can't perform well at our positions we get let go. Particularly in very visible results-driven positions.

I really didn't have much interest in this game. The Chuck South game just doesn't turn me on as something that I would listen to or waste my time with. It is really disgusting losing to a team this low. It is typical of this years team to blow a forth quarter lead even when completing against a team this poor. Hopefully this will be the final blow in the possibility of Karcher's return next year. Maybe a decision will be made quikly so some serious recruiting can be done before next year.

I am so bummed about this loss. I looked at the box score on ESPN and the numbers look so close. (although it's a little disheartening that we were matched up so well against them!) I will just be glad when this season is done, although I'm with whoever said what they said about Karcher not necessarily getting canned. I always think "There's no way they'll keep him now" but I've said it for ohhh 4 years, and each year they find a new way to surprise me. Fingers crossed, he's gone. I don't see how they can possibly justify keeping him another year, contract or no contract.

Don't look now but Concord U just had a dramatic come from behind win to finish the season 4 - 7. D II Concord U and Chuch South, nice company we are now in. At least Chuck South is showing us how a real program can be built. Karcher has had how many years to get to this point?

Here is one to make you scratch your head...
With a little over 6 minutes to go - 4th down - and the ball on the CSU 45 holding a 30-25 lead, LU goes for the first down instead of punting CSU in the hole and playing field position. LU doesn't pick up the first down and now CSU has a short field to take the lead and the win. Why go for it there? Don't reinvent the wheel. Punt and play D. Make them drive the long field to win it. You don't roll the dice and take the chance giving a veteran QB like Drafts a short field. We didn't have to try and win the game right there - and in my opinion the risk was not worth the reward.
