Unless they move the article again, the N&A writeup can be found here. IMHO, this is what will finally put LU over the top as a major university. Athletic success and student body growth are both wonderful (and very much necessary) but if we don't have the big endowment our future will never be secure. The article clearly states how ambitious the goal is, but something about it just seems do-able to me. Wow, that's a lot of money, though.

Jerry talked about similar endowment goals back when some of old hags were in school .... just before Jim & Tammy Faye followed by Swaggart all brought the flow of donations to a screeching halt. Its taken about 15 years to recover from that financial disaster and its great to see us building toward the future.
In truth, most endowment funds come as a result of dispensation from wills. Considering the fact that we still have such a young alumni base, it could take awhile to really collect the big dividends. Of course, LU is not your typical school.
