Sorry, PAmedic ... The Eagles are just waiting a week longer than normal to pull one of their classic choke jobs.
That said, I had a blast covering the Super Bowl this past year here in Houston. I wish I were heading to Jacksonville right now.

there is no way you can bet against belichek right now...
it will make its way to 8 pts before its all said and done...
my prediction is TO will not play
NE 34 Philly 24
I'd take philly +6 but would stay away if it makes it to 8 regardless of what i think the score will be

this one's gonna go 1 of 2 ways- either the Eagles come out and play like they can and win by 10, or they "pull one of their classic choke jobs" (thanks for the reminder Sly) and lose by anywhere from 14 - 20.
Iin other words- you'll either see NE cover the spread or lose big.

History indicates it could get ugly. Just like a year ago, it is a game featuring two terrific defenses. The Pats probably are a little stronger on D. The Eagles would have the edge on offense with a healthy TO. That doesn't appear to be the case. If he plays, he'll essentially be a decoy.
Remember it was scoreless til nearly halftime a year ago before both teams exploded. I think it could be similar this time.
Philly doesn't have the big game experience the Patriots possess. In fact, the Eagles over trying to overcome an atrocious past in big games.
Bottom line, I think the Pats should cover.the spread.
BTW - I was in Reliant Stadium last year, and like 99% of those in attendance, knew nothing about the Janet Jackson fiasco. We were more upset about Kid Rock's antics trashing the American flag. Apparently, the Kid Roick stuff didn't make air but Jackson's wardrobe malfunction did.

Still not sure if I have an issue w/ the whole flag thing. I'm as patriotic than the next guy (if not more), and I think he was misunderstood. Admittedly, I didn't see the whole "poncho" thing or whatever he did. I just feel that wearing the flag as clothing is, in and of itself, actually more PATRIOTIC than disrespectful- and I have family in the military. As a disclaimer- in all fairness, I should admit upfront that my significant other has a VERY hot american flag bikini. I feel quite patriotic thruout the summer.

I had no problem with him wearing the patriotic garb as part of a show that was supposed to be a tribute to the troops overseas. It was the manner in which he treated it in his performance of "Cowboy". Tasteless.
But the high point of the game was the streaker getting on the field in a referee uniform and basically dancing out there for about 30 seconds before security finally began to chase after him. Bizarre.

I have just come down from my high of winning the NFC title so I can post now. I just want to say for the Record that we will show the league how to beat the Patriots. Pressure on Brady. We will get to him. He will make more mistakes in this Superbowl than all his other games combined.

pittsburg is a better d than philly and they thought the same thing too...
with dillon NE is now a complete package...the only threat is westbrook in the Philly offense...mcnabb doesn't run as much as i'd like....who's mcnabb going to throw to other than westbrook...
freddie is the "peoples champion" yet is a 3rd WR w/ 22 catches and is behind pinkston who won't go accross the middle....ole reliable chad smith is gone and lj will probably get into endzone but thats it...
NE has Dillon and Brady will throw to 3 wide receivers who can have a big game at anytime...graham is always a threat and faulk is great as a 3rd down back....
trotter, dawkins, and kearse have to have great games and even then i don't see the eagles putting up much on offense...
look at what belichek did to manning...
heres my indiv. predictions
Brady - 2 pass tds dillon - 1 rush td graham - 1 td givens - 1 td Brown - 1 return td viniateri - 2 fg
Mcnabb 2 pass td lj smith 1 td westbrook 1 td Philly Def 1td akers 1 fg

as much as I hate to admit it, Ishbox- I could see your scenario playing out. The Pats look solid again this year. Don't sell McNabb short though, his decreased mobility was done to increase his passing accuracy and efficiency, and it worked well. But if need be, that dog can RUN.

So you see Vinateiri kicking the deciding FG for the third time? It could happen.
It does seem that Super Bowls involving the Pats tend to be much better games than your average, ordinary brand Super Bowl.

i'm thinking a low scoring 1st half...maybe 14-10 at the half and then i see NE pulling ahead in the 3rd and philly playing catchup the rest of the game..

I know I am a biased Eagles fan but I really feel whomever can hold the ball longer will win the game. I know NE will be able to move the ball on us but will they be able to punch it in? Maybe. That will be the difference. Also I think whichever defense can put more pressure on the other QB will have success and probably win the game. I don't see it coming down to another NE kick. The odds are against that. Maybe a David Akers kick! I think TO will play well even though he is hurt. We won't know it during the game once they shoot that leg up. He will pay the price down the road for not letting that thing heal properly but he will be ok for this game.

Brady - 2 pass tds - yup dillon - 1 rush td - yup graham - 1 td - eh...they ran vrabel at grahams spot givens - 1 td - yup Brown - 1 return td - a big stretch here so no luck viniateri - 2 fg - got 1
Mcnabb 2 pass td - had 3 lj smith 1 td - yup westbrook 1 td - yup Philly Def 1td - another big stretch here...micheal lewis almost made it come true.. akers 1 fg - we didn't see this guy at all
not bad if i do say so myself..*pat pat*
i made those predictions before i knew the weather was so terrible...
NE was very very beatable last night...horrible clock managemant adn Mcnabb tossing lobs is what killed them...oh and only running the ball 17 times was a huge error as well...
good job "peoples champion", you had 1 catch for a handfull of yards yet the guy you called out had 2 picks...what a douche..
