Somewhere, guys like Dan Davies & Nick Reichenbach would probably be shocked to see what has become of the team that created two decades ago. Having our own ice was beyond our wildest dreams back in the day.
God is good.

PAmedic - they weren't figure skates...they didn't have toepicks or anything...but the plastic on the back of the hockey skates begins to quick - sort of like having a brake on rollerblades, you lean backwards and it digs into the ice...toepicks would be in the front...
Or are you kidding...I was impressed with the girl that drove the zamboni...she could skate...but she was wearing hockey skates as well...always impressed with girls that choose hockey skates over figure skates...
I HATE TOEPICKS!!!

(nothing against figureskaters - just toepicks and things that rut up the ice)

Yes sir, I'll be there this semester. I'm moving tomorrow if anyone wants to help. Yes, that was a shameless plug for my laziness. I knew I shouldn't have picked a second floor apartment. Taking my furniture up the stairs is going to suck.

At least you don't live on the 4th floor of East Campus...well, I don't have much furniture to move in and out every year (a bookcase, office swivel chair, and microwave) but still, I feel your pain.

I have a couch, chair, coffee table, bed, and other random things. Put it this way, we packed up my house at the beach and are moving it into the apartment so there's a buncha junk.

I was planning on getting it back on topic, I just got side tracked watching football.
Is it 5 bucks for students to skate too or do we get to do it for free? Haven't figured that part out yet.

$5 to skate as of now and then $3 more if you don't have your own skates. I hit the ice yesterday and it's really a nice place.

I'd prolly steal your trombone from you and play it. A guy at Coastal last semester saw mine sitting in my bedroom and didn't believe I could still play it. I broke it out and could still play the scales 2 octaves. Couldn't play as low as I used to but could still get everything 2 octaves. My lips were killing me afterwards though.
givemethemic, is that price for students too? As of right now, I'm flat broke. Getting my VA appraisal license is gonna take more than I though. I'm hoping that whole free thing works out.

I was talkin to Kirk and this semister it will not be free, although what they are hoping for next semister, is to add $25 activity fee to the students and they will have free access and admission to games...which I think would be a great deal for the students
Lookin at the figures it appears they will have to bring in $10,000 a month in order to pay the billls...bottom line is LU realizes they wont make money on the place but you cant put a price tag on how many more students this appeals to b/c there is yet another option to do for fun...
Not to mention if you get a phone call saying I have a grandson who wants to play hockey, if I pay for it will you give me some land to put it on...you dont say no :-D

You got a point about the last part.
I was hopin it would be free so I could use it as somewhat of a workout. I hate running but I love skating.
Since we have to pay, it'll now be used as a cheap date. Yes, I said it. I'm cheap.

You're welcome to visit me when Im practicing down there and jam a bit when you can

Oh, I know about Movies 10, don't worry. If she wants a nice dinner then we'll go to a cheap movie. If she wants a new movie then she better get ready for Burger King. Ok, maybe not Burger King but you get the point.

The places most LU folks go are TGI Fridays IHOP TExas Roadhouse and Ruby Tuesday's if they want to go out. There are a bunch of other places along Wards Rd that are pretty good (Oh and of course there is Moe's Wings)

Believe me, I know where to eat. It's one of the first things I look for when I move somewhere. Haha, yea, kinda sad. Oh well.
And I'll get this thing back on topic closer to the next hockey game, don't worry.

By the way, has your permission slip been signed to come down for it?

I've been called worse. And deservedly so. Trying to decide if we can bring the little guy down or if it would be too much for a 6 yr old.
