The Chanticleers have accumulated 64.25 points for the overall lead, ahead of second-place Liberty (53.50) and third-place Winthrop (44.50). Coastal, which has won the last two Sasser Cups, won the women’s cross country title, shared the football championship and captured the men’s soccer tournament championship crown during the fall season.

UNC Asheville is second in the women’s All-Sports standing at 33.50, just ahead of Liberty (33.00). On the men’s side, VMI is currently second to Coastal Carolina with 21.25 points, ahead of the Flames’ 20.50.
The Sasser Cup Trophy, named for former Big South Commissioner Buddy Sasser, is awarded to the Big South member institution with the most successful year athletically based on a points system. Points are awarded based on both regular-season and tournament finish in each of the League’s 18 championships, based on the number of teams participating in the regular-season and tournament, respectively. A school must be eligible to participate in a specific sport championship to receive Sasser Cup points in that sport. There shall be a weighted factor of 1.5 for those sports that only participate in regular-season play (football) or a tournament (cross country, track, golf), but not both. Teams tied in regular-season or tournament play shall split the points earned.
