sounds like nowhere else to go?
just don't like the way it reads though- they (press) make the man seem very arrogant. like this was all a big mistake, "they" were trying to make me do two jobs, "they" didn't know what "they" wanted, etc.
could make for a BAD working relationship. In my industry- when one Chief "steps down" or "retires", he clears outta the way for the next guy- no hanging around peering over the shoulder.
What do I know.

the reason he's still there is b/c of no offer's except one local high school....as soon as the first half way decent offer comes he'll leave

Yes, the "they's" in the story are surprising considering that his contract was up and they weren't under any obligation to give him a severance package, much the less a job until he found something else. I think "they're" doing the right thing, but they certainly didn't have to. Just makes the negatives a bit surprising to me. Though, it probably shouldn't. Anything the N&A can do to tear down LU/TRBC/LCA/The Falwells will be done.
