Reading thru my Nat'l Liberty Journal, this Winterfest thing looks like a big deal- but I really know nothing about it, have never been to one.

I've heard about it and I think I almost went to it last year. I don't remember when it is though.

there won't be any students in the building but Radford Liberty or High Point Liberty might be fun in Jan....Also check libertyflames.com and see which nights they have double headers with men and women. I can't say much about social life in Lynchburg for you since I am old and married.

Haha, the social life part is fine, I got some friends I'm gonna hang out with most of the time.

Well finals week is like the week before Christmas, and students are here for 2 weeks after Thanksgiving. As far as Liberty/Radford or Liberty/High Point, its a shame that we scheduled those two during the break...the crowd was DEFINITELY a factor in last season's 84-80 comeback win against High Point as well as the comeback win against Radford.

Once again, not ripping on the athletic department or anything but scheduling Radford during vacation just shows how marginal they are. Its are biggest rival. I didn't attend last years game but the 3 years before that, the Vines was almost filled. The time to schedule. Thats like Florida scheduling FSU during the summer. Anyhow I would recommend going to Lynchburg in the next two weeks. The weather is unusually warm now and the trees are changing colors. If not, wait till February or March. The weather is just too bitter in December and January.

jack - For the record, its our friends at the Big South that come up with the league schedules. We only control non-league dates.
I hope these suggestions are some use to you, SJ.

It's been settled, next weekend. Tait's playing on Friday night and, well, DC Talk was my favorite band ever. I'm skippin our football game but we're playin friggin Mansfield and quite frankly, I'd rather drive than watch that game.

Actually I had a rant about the scheduling and the Big South in general on the Flames Television Network thread. LuConn, can't wait for Radford Liberty. But the schedule makers (Kyle Kallander Big South Commissioner) put that as a home game during Christmas break on the schedule! Are they stupid? Don't answer that. Also High Point is during that time too. 2 of the highest attended games if not THE 2 highest attendance games in the entire conference besides the tournament and they (Kallander) put it on the schedule when no students are here? You would think with a name like Kallander that he could work wonders with a calendar but he takes shots at LU all the time IMO. Larry Blair situation...The track and field issue a couple of years back to name 2. Not to mention the many years I have tried to get on Big South Television in vain. No ax to grind here, just stating facts. (but he should use me instead of guys that call coach Dunton Dave and guys who call the vines center the Hines center). Im done with my mini rant for the day.

Next weekend sounds like a great call. Scar & I go back to when Mike was on campus singing in chapel 3 times a week. He had much shorter hair back in the day despite the cameo look being in style.

I'm a huge DC Talk fan. I have, at one point in time, owned every single DC Talk album. I've seen Michael three or four times with Tait. Not a huge fan of Toby's solo stuff but Michael's is good.

Kevin Max (Kevin Smith back in our day) was a regular in the cage by Dorm 7. He could push the rock really well when I was manning him up. Scar & Toby are friends so carefdul on the criticism of his new stuff.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Toby's new stuff, I'm just not a fan of hip hop. He's amazing at what he does. My goal in life is to one day get in a van with a buncha guys and play music across the country and if I could pick anyone in the country to produce a record I'd pick Toby in a heart beat.
I haven't heard too much of Kevin's new stuff. I know he did an awesome cover of Help Me Rhonda.
I still try to do some of the raps on the old albums (Free At Last, etc) and Toby's just so good I can't even keep up.

My problem with the band is finding people who aren't drunk and actually have morals and can play music. Kinda hard to find that down here

Haha, it's CFAW next weekend. That means there will be high school kids with the guy I'm staying with. I'm gonna make em wanna go to Liberty and I don't even go there.
I said I should carry around a sign that says, "Go to school at the beach, it's warmer" and wear Coastal stuff. I'd get the good ole right hand of fellowship for that one.

Haha, yes, I think you are. Classic Toby rap:
We're here to say word 2 the father up in heaven A shout out loud from me, mike, and kevin Some may wonder what we're talkin' about When word is heard It's like a church that shouts "amen!"
Then another line from the same song:
This is a shout out to heaven from toby, mike and kevin Straight up propers to the papa And can't nobody stop us Cause we'll do this, like brutus We told you we ain't new to this So jump on it like a hornet And we got no other word than...
The sad thing is I didn't need to look that up but did just to make sure I was right...
