Were any of you old-timers participants in this dark spot in LU history. Sometimes I watch that show on the Liberty Channel, and it's amazing to see all the socially-inept 80's freaks. Does anyone know what cruel fate found the host (Lamar or Lavarr, I think?)? And don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about.

oohh excellent question.
But it's "Act it out!" you fool. How could you forget the name of such a quality program.

I can honestly say I don't remeber the show you are talking about. But LBN was doing some stuff in the Late '80s that most of the campus could neither see or would've wanted to anyway (LBN was on old-school satellite only). I'll try and e-mail some of my LBN alum friends to see what they remember.
I do recall a ridiculous show hosted by Doug Oldham aimed at the gray/blue-haired set where he rode a Harley in the show open.

ahh hahaha, that's a terrible show too. It's called like the over the hill gang or something similar to that. It's unbearable to watch. Act it out is entertaining if not just to mock those participating.

I am TRULY proud to say that I did, in fact, attend a live taping of ACT OUT (think thats what it was called) at the "studio". A lot of Arsenio Hall style "whooping" and cheering, overdone laughing at things that were'nt THAT funny, etc. Then again, I also wore a cross earing (thank you George Micheal, parachute pants, bandanna's around my lower leg, the 3/4 leather boots with the "crushed" look to them (which I was FORCED to throw away last year by HER) and, of course- a mullet.

Yep, that sounds a lot like what the majority of the audience looked like.

I was amongst the mullet kingdom in my LU days as well. Although I have to admoit I didn't make it to any of these apparently legendary taping sessions.
I e-mailed some of my friends who would've possibly been in involved in the production back in the day. They may post on here.
I can tell you I run into one of the guys who undoubtedly was featured in these shows. Vic Mignon is down here in Houston. I see him running camera at Astros games from time to time. He recorded a jingle and then was featured in the ensuing television commercial for an ISP down here called Everyone's Internet (ev1.net).
