the correct term is Katy bar the door. It means to block passage. Its origin is from a well known book of poems called King's Tragedy. Just thought I'd help you out.

I'm just glad we had Katie on the Floor back in March.
English Major - I'm sure everyone around you loves being corrected all the time. My wife hates me correcting her all the time. But when you are brilliant, you feel it is your calling in life to enlighten everyone around you. ;D

If you are still putting up with winters north of the Mason-Dixon line, how brilliant could YOU be?

Just off the plane from the Magic freakin' Kingdom. Had a great time, the little guy shot 4 rolls of film of all his fav characters, and not a Texan was in sight the 4 days I was there.
Missed ya Sly.
Oh yeah- boarded the plane in Orlando, was 85 deg, got back in Philly was 57. NICE. May on the East Coast.

We are having near record heat down here in Houston. But I'll take Mid-90s in summer over winter anytime.
Welcome back, PAmedic. I can't imagine weather dipping down to 57. It hasn't done that here since February. Brrrr.

There is no dipping down here in MN. We are highs of low 60's - mid - 50's. Our weather has been so screwed up here as we had 70's in Feb. and March. I do like the cool evenings but the mornings are just freezing. Brenda -I still couldn't live in Texas though!

Come on, Brenda. Don't let one loser taint your views of an entire region of the country. ;D When your daughter is headed down here, let me know and I'll come up with a list of cool things for her to check out down here (if she hasn't tried them already). Jack --- I'm guessing your are heartbroken about leaving the Crossroads. Good luck over there where the real estate is a tad higher.

Thanks Sly. yeh i got huge wake up call with the real estate over there. I didnt realize it was that high. I guess Texas is real cheap with quality when it comes to owning a home and land.

It doesn't get any cheaper than Texas. You have to pay good money over there in Florida to put up with all the Palmetto bugs & blue hairs.

hadn't been to FLA since the mid 80's and noticed a LOT of development now. That'll drive up prices REAL quick...the Philly 'burbs real estate prices have skyrocketed over the last 20 yrs due to that kinda growth.
