nothing like a one dimensional team. I gotta admit. Young beat SC single-handedly, no one else on his team showed up.

They just said Young has rushed for 200. Now, if only Bush doesn't run one back 100.

What the piss?
Leinart just said, "I think we're the better football team, they just made the plays." Holy piss on a stick I hate idiots like that.

Leinart just doesn't want to admit the better team won tonight.
Interesting factoid, this is the second time a team has won 34 in a row going into the national championship and lost their 35th game Miami won their first 34 under Larry Coker and then lost their 35th in the Fiesta Bowl in 2002 to Ohio State

He probably said that out of frustration. But the better team showed up tonight and that was Texas. They never quit and again it showed tonight. USC relaxed in my opinion after they got that 38-26 lead with just under 7 minutes to go in the game. Well at least I won't be hearing USC's team as being the best anymore.

Leinart's still saying he thinks USC lost the game more than Texas won it. He gives Texas a little credit but mainly blames his team for not giving the game away.

Very cool sig, SJ.
Yeah, Leinart's not showing much class. I guess when you never lose you don't know how to handle it when it does happen.
So tell me now who the real Heisman Trophy winner should've been.

The funny thing about that signature is I didn't do much to make it. A while back I made a Texas Baseball wallpaper for someone so I just took part of the background and added Young to it.

congrats to texas a deserving champion! vince young is a legend and may even go pro now. probably the best single game performance ever in college football. yes there were some missed calls, but im glad to see a new champion and to see mack brown get a title and maybe the criticism will finally end. matt leinart and reggie bush went to the USC locker room to offer congrats which showed a lot of class, and what leinart said did not show lack of class people. he gave credit where credit was due, but he also said what USC did not do. what a great game, im glad i have it on DVR! this is what college football is all about two classy programs and two classy coaches...BTW congrats sly!!

I agree w/ Leinart in principle. SC got flat out beat by a "quarter-back" who is actually arguably the most talented RUNNING BACK in college FB today. The guy singlehandedly destroyed the secondary- unstoppable. And thats how TX won- other than the unsuccessful 4th and 1 on their last series, SC had the game in hand as long as the offense was on the field. I would say overall USC has a better offense and a more complete team- but got FLAT OUT beat up by a very talented Vince Young.

I went to bed because I was upset that USC was ahead late. I wake up this morning and was so mad that I missed the Vinsanity! He is the real deal and a heck of a QB. Way to go to bring that home to Austin. Now, who will knock off Texas next year?

I went to bed because I was upset that USC was ahead late. I wake up this morning and was so mad that I missed the Vinsanity! I was sooooo close do doing that myself when USC got up 12 or so. I was thinking of the ramifications of waking up and seeing that Texas had pulled it off and I figured it was already late so I pulled through. Here's a couple of notes I have on this game: 1. It was one of the top 5 football games I think I've seen. It's probably best not to judge that type of thing for a few weeks but I am anyway. 2. After the missed PAT I thought Texas should exclusively go for 2 as USC couldn't stop them from getting a meger 2 yards if they were to be tortured afterwards. 3. Keith Jackson, please retire for the 10th time only permanently. He was 5 seconds late on calling a lot of things, he talks well into the commercials, and it's "Time outs" not "Times out" for goodness sake!

he also described, painfully, how TX called a timeout just before the clock ran down- when it was actually the GAME clock showing the end of the 3rd quarter. Even as ABC cut to commercial w/ :00 showing as well as the graphic "END OF 3RD QUARTER" he was rambling on about the "times out" remaining.
But the man is a legend, so I guess we can cut him a break. Like that guy that annouced Miss America for 200 years straight, or D1ck Clark at 104, after a major stroke, trying to grunt out the NYE countdown.
*hope we don't have a language filter on the new board that calls everyone "thingy"

I'm just hoping Vince's mother & grandmother can keep the sharks away from Vince so he'll honor his promises to return for another season. If he does, Texas becomes the instant runaway #1 next fall and we could quite possibly have a #1 vs. #2 showdown in Austin in September when the Buckeyes come down.
Now ... is there any question as to who SHOULD have won the Heisman? Without the USC PR Firm known as ESPN Vince probably would've won it this year. Hopefully gets his due this December.
If Vince does come out, the Texans are going to be a real quandry. How could they possibly let their hometown legend slip through their fingers even if the franchise doesn't need another QB? Vince could run for Governor and win down here right now so he obviously would guarantee nothing but full houses ar Reliant Stadium.
Yikes. Hopefully he comes back for his senior season and the Texans won't have to make that heartwrenching choice.

Keith is an unabashed Pac-10 homer. He used to try and disguise it but even the casual observer could see it last night. In a national championship game, you would hope for some form of impartiality. I used to like his schtick but now I cringe when I see he is behind the mic.
Oh yeah, 'The Eyes of Texas' last night after the game was was a powerful moment for Texans of all ilk. Even Aggies like Pastor Zach would have to admit their Lone Star State pride. By today, Aggies & Soonerds alike are back hating on the Horns. But at least now that school that can't win the big one with the coach who can't coach in a terrible conference made a statement to the college football world.
BTW ... right now the Longhorns are the reigning NCAA baseball & football champs. Don't rule out a trifecta with mens hoops now that they are getting all their players back from injuries. Hook Em
