I know that this is not posted anywhere really yet. But here is what is going down for what most people know as midnight madness tonight. It is called meet the team it's for the Men's and Women's teams, it's at the Student Center from 10:30-11:30. There will be a dunk contest and a 2-ball competition and a few other events. 90.9 FM will be there doing live interviews which you out of town guys can hear on the web. We will be talking to Larry Blair, Coach Dunton, Katie Feenstra, Allyson Fasnacht, and Coach Green throughout the hour. Should be alot of fun, you guys should come out as it is the first look to see the new teams. With that just givemethemic

Ryan Seacrest...er, Givemethemic, forgot to mention that the remote will be during our Hip Hop Show... so all the old timers who listen online better turn down your bass unit and keep your heads as far away from your tweeters as possible.

caught the tail end of GMTMs report-from-the-court but the audio kept cutting out, possibly an interview w/ Coach Dunton? Did hear that Larry Blair won the slam dunk contest, then back to hip hop. Hope the show was good for everyone that was down there to see it.

Times have changed, my brother.
The only "hiphop" on the student station back in my day was the demo cut of dc Talk's "Heavenbound". The student station then held a mini-concert in what was then the Deli of SAGA where a music video was put shot and assembled by many of my friends (by that point I was already working offcampus in both radio & television).
We used to have Bev Buffington go over EVERY track before it made air. She even rated the songs for us in order of air-worthiness. You can imagine how helpful that was.
Pardon the hazy recollections from nearly two decades ago. Old hag ramblings now complete for the moment.

Midnight Madness or pre mid night madness was good. The did well introducing both teams and mixing the men and womens teams with students. they had a 2ball competition guys and girls and a mens/womens/student knock out. Dunk contest was good aslo, some of the guys were a lil tired from the 2 hour practice before but the "star" Larry Blair fnished 3 very very nice dunks including his last game winning one a windmilled alley oop from on of the members of the girls team.
