I know we've had the arguments ad nauseum over this topic- how there really is NO good definition for the classification, but the media seems to be fixating on it now. How do you become one, and do we? W/ an enrollment of 9000 I would think we SHOULD be, we seem to fall short though. here's an article which prompted this little outburst of mine: Horned Frogs closing in on MWC title

We would be considered mid-majors in everything except football. TCU is a I-A mid-major while we are a I-AA major. In I-AA football the mid-majors are the I-AA schools who are non-scholarship (i.e. Pioneer League).

allrighty then. Actually I'm now more confused, but whatever. It doesn't really matter. Maybe they should eliminate the AA classification, would make things easier.

I just read on the Atlantic Sun website how they were the first I-AAA (yes, triple A, on the official report) to send 3 teams to the baseball tourney...how's that for confusing?
