Gentlemen:
It is going to improve. I can speak first hand on this. It is going to take some time but the Athletic Department is in the upswing and it is going to become something really great. Rebuilding programs is always tough with the competition on the NCAA Division 1 and 1AA level.
I can assure you nobody is going to take us by the hand and lead the way. Give it time and stay positive. Good things are about to come to all Flame Fans from Coast to Coast! I very much believe that one day our Athletic department will become competitive in all sports in NCAA Division 1. That includes going to the big Dance in Basketball and maybe making it to the sweet 16 or even the final 4. Who knows, that includes the Football Team winning a Bowl game. It can be done. We just have to have some faith and stay positive with our attitude and be loyal fans as Alumni.
I'm looking forward to LU beating Syracuse, Hopkins and Virginia in Lacrosse one day!
It is a matter of having vision but staying in reality and keeping the faith. It is a journey one step at a time and a faith walk. We will get to the promise land. That you can Bank on!
You Guys are the best,
Thelaxman

Well lets see, men's bball can't go much further down, and football has nowhere to go but up...yeah, I think its safe to say some brighter days will be coming.

I dont think we are blindly optimistic toward our athletic department's future - namely football and mens b-ball.
Coach Rocco has the pedigree to take us to the next level. We are lucky to get him. He is exactly what the doctor ordered for LU (a ton of experience at the collegiate level, great recruiter, proven winner). All he needed was a shot at a head coaching job. LU will not be sorry.
Coach Dunton has been .500 since being back at LU. He had to pull a team from the depths of despair thanks to Mel Hankinson. You cant fault Coach D's record when you see where we came from. Now, we have to keep getting better players and keep our players together, but we have had conference success and have finished at or near the top of the BSC in the last 3 years - a far cry from where we were. All we can ask for is to be competitive and we have been. Getting to the Winthrop level does not come overnight, but we are laying the groundwork.
We are ADless, but we will find the right candidate. I would prefer a drawn out process rather than a snap decision. I know we are moving in the right direction and we will reach our goals. It is an exciting time to be an LU fan!!!!! Those of you who are negative posers, get off the bandwagon now, because I dont want to share the space with you when we start winning.
