...Lost a very close game to a very good team - Lehigh - this week. Lehigh, for the record, is #13 ranked on the season - and escaped Lexington, VA with a 28-26 victory over the Keydets.
Hohhhh boy. Well, look on the bright side. LU is undefeated when they score.

VMI is without Sean Mizzer, I believe. There will be a big crowd just b/c it is homecomming, and Karcher will be desparate for a win. I think this was the win that saved his job a couple of years ago.
We may be competitive in this one, but then again, LU may have packed it in for the year.

This game is crucial in so many regards. It sure was fortunate for us to have homecoming arriving this week. We'll need all of the crowd support we can generate to beat those toy soldiers from up 501.

I just don't want this to be a repeat of 2 years ago (as great as it was to be there for that with the marching band)

Boy, that was a game two years ago...but maybe at this point we need to get embarrassed at home in front of all of the important people.
If we don't score next week agaist a weak VMI at home, maybe that would convice the AD to make a move.
Go Keydets, put us out of our misery.
P.S. Realize that I don't mean to be mean...I'm out of control with frustration...this was meant half joking, but realizing that it is a possibility. I guess I'll still ruit for LU. I don't know.

You have to admit that the last three games have been against good teams. At home against VMI LU could get a win.

I was kind of hoping for the same. What is it going to take to convince the admin to make a move and get rid of this guy.

Personally, I have a hard time justifying in my mind hoping LU loses under any circumstances. But I understand your frustration.
This game is certainly setting up to be a dandy. Two teams who are clearly playing from positions of weakness.

Just back from the game ... if you think that the last two games were "products of playing good teams" you're kidding yourself.
Liberty has very little talent. This isn't about being young. It's about having very few players. LU had 145 yards of total offense against a team that gave up 48 points last week.
This is a major, major problem. Quite honestly, I think there's a very real possibility that Concord is the only win of the season. Chuck South is on the road. So is Norfolk State, and even the cruddy Spartans scored 61 today (in four overtimes, of course).
Those are the only possibilities. VMI wins next week 31-0. I'm not predicting any points until LU actually scores one.

I agree with both of you. VMI will win 38-0 in front of our homecoming crowd (Those that do show up). VMI played a very good Lehigh team tough yesterday. I wonder what kind of crowd will show up and how many will stay till the end. Hopefully that would be a good reason to get rid of Karcher right now rather than waiting to end of the season. I

Wow, I'm impressed with this site, our Keydet Yahoo site is pathetic compared to this. We should have beaten Lehigh, they gave us a lot of opportunities to win, but our coaching staff would take the turnover posession and run it up the gut every time on first down, so we played 2nd and 8 all day long. It was a costly moral victory as we lost three top players. We are definately thin. That being said we played hard and hung in with a very good team. A couple of plays and we would have won comfortably.......they ran a fumble recovery after they stripped the ball from our RB for a 40 yd TD....we missed a 30 yd field goal. .......and they got a tipped pass interception with 20 seconds to go on the 20 yd line, which if we caught it would have given us a field goal chance.......Anyway thanks for the invite to visit your site from one of your faithful. We have a great rivalry brewing here so lets keep it going. Can't make the game this weekend but will catch it on TV. May the best team win........we both need it

First off, thanks for coming over and registering. I know you guys consider W&M and Richmond your rivals. But we like to think we are building a nice little Central Virginia rivalry between our schools. Pass the word amongst your folk that you all have an open invitition here.
As for both of our schools needing a victory, you couldn't be anymore on target.

Personally I don't have a lasting rivalry with Richmond and W&M like I used to. I live in Wytheville but a bunch of our alumni live in Tidewater and Richmond. I believe, until we get better we don't need to play them regardless. We need to focus on the Big South !!!! That's where we chose to be so make the best of it and get over the old days.........I mean our biggest rival was Va tech at one time......do we want to play them? ...........times change

I'd love to create some regional rivalries with both W&M and UR. But our embarassing performances against the Tribe the past two years has probably done irreparable damage to the prospects of another series with them anytime soon. And for some reason, the Spiders haven't wanted to work us much. Oh well.
It only makes sense for our two schools to compete with each other considering where we both are right now. Neither one of us are setting the world on fire in football.

Mizzer, Hollingsworth, Burden and an offensive lineman Reel, but there is a chance Mizzer will be back for Liberty. Not telling any secrets, it's in the Roanoke Times. Fortunately others stepped up for us as two of them went down early

Thanks for the injury report. I was under the impression Mizzer would be out for an extended period of time.
Losing Burden doesn't help your situation throwing the ball.
We could have a VERY low scoring game at this rate.

Welcome aboard DTB- I can assure you there probably is NO other message board as friendly as this one! We take any/all perspectives.
Sounds like your Lehigh game is a microcosm of our season- only we don't score! I hope we figure out how to do so this weekend- otherwise the it'll be a LONG trip back home for me.
