anything new here to report. I was on the website and it looks like they have improved the graphics on the benefits brochure and that's it. Any feedback on enrollment and membership recruiting efforts?

I've always wanted to join, but frankly right now, I'd have to find $100 on the street to be able to. Although we do get a 10% discount. And really I just want the parking pass, but that costs $500. Oh well, maybe someday. When I'm rich I'll be scholarship level hopefully

I hear you. I'm going to give $100 this year. Next year try to bump up a level to $250. The new house and extra child have made me reel in my spending a bit. 3 kids and a wife gets expensive you know?

I hear you and I have just two kids and a mortgage.
PS - Anybody else seeing the banner ads for Notre Dame football on our site? Jerry would be impressed with the connection.

I've been seeing them. I think the banner ads somehow search what we say. so let's try this experiment: Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Notre Dame Football. Fightin' Irish Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Notre Dame Football. Let's see if there's more

Seeing SCAR's post about old game footage from the MPC I thought of a fundraiser for the Flames Club. How about a 35 year anniversary LBC/LU sports highlight video?

I can't believe you have to give $500 for media guides! I hope to join but 1 mortgage and 1 child later kind of difficult. A friend of mine gets passes to the meals before the football games those are really nice.

Follow my lead. I have three kids (4 yrs., 2 yrs., and 9 months old - ouch!) and a mortgage. I will give $100 to the Flames Club this year and after the season get a leftover guide from Todd Wetmore! Seriously, you can buy the guide for $10 each. So please don't pay $500 for the guides! :>)

As a member of the media I get my guides for free ;D. I am glad there is chatter about Flames Club. We need to get some of our more well to do alumni to contribute the big bucks. I think Dr. Park is on the right track with that line of thinking. They are slowly but surely re-organizing the athletic department. Todd Wetmore (SID) had been promoted to Media Relations director. Basically they changed the Sports Information Director title and made him an assistant AD. Bigger changes to follow I am sure. We are going to look like a real organization with real dollars being generated on Dr. Park's watch in my opinion...HBF, your idea about a 35th anniversary highlight reel is good except for the fact that I don't know if any tape exists from the old days. If it does, that would be really fun to see for so many reasons. Great idea.

I plan to step up my giving to the Flames Club over the next few years. we're still getting our finances in order after the third child. That said I think we all need to pitch in as needed to support the program taking the next step. DI athletics (as you know SCAR) is an expensive venture if you're going to do it right. I saw where Todd was promoted - great move! As for game footage - you might have to take raw footage. I'm sure the football office has tapes in a library somewhere - I know where I coached we had a whole room full of tape - even the old reel to reel stuff. Would the Liberty Channel and the old LBN have archived basketball games?

Putting together a 35-year reel would take some significant effort. But it could be done.
You combine what the school already has stashed away (if they didn't toss stuff because of space limitations years ago). You put out word to alumni to send in copies of any home movies or videotape they might have. Then you go to WSET (as well as WDBJ & WSLS, for that matter) and find out what they might have. Most stations were using videotape by the Late '70s with film before that. Most stations would gladly let you look at their film archives and knock off anything you would like. I'm guessing that even the haters back then would've shown up for a football, basketball or baseball game or two.
Since we have plenty of equipment to do the task, it would just require some effort from somebody on campus.
All that said, count me out. I'm half way across the continent with no time to spare already.
As for the "promotion" in the Sports Information office, I hope Todd got a raise. Otherwise, its no big deal. Most schools have changed the titles several years back.

Here's my idea... You all save your money, forget wasting it on some LU Flames club, and donate it to the Liberty Lacrosse team, you get some tight stuff for your money. Definitely a wise investment, go with the team that has a better than .500 win pct...
