Has done a fantastic job at W&M. He is one of my all-time favorite coaches and a good one. I have been cruising over to the Tribe Board and no one is talking about our game - the mood borders on almost apathetic towards LU. Do you think there is a remote chance we catch them down in the dumps after URI? According to their fans there is very little interest in continuing a series with us - is there a shot we catch them asleep at the wheel?
Even if they are sleeping - will that be enough for us to keep this one competitive? My gut tells me Laycock is too good to let that happen but you never know.

Based on our ofensive performance the first three games, the Tribe would have to be in a coma. But stranger things have happened. Just ask the Cal-David Aggies.

Very little chance of Liberty catching W & M asleep. They struggled against an option team last Saturday but LU is not running the option every down. Maybe the Terrell kid will break a couple of big plays on them but traditionally W & M is very sound. They are similiar to Lehigh....very few mistakes, well coached, nothing fancy....good fundamentals. Liberty can't make the type of mistakes they made against Youngstown St. and beat the Tribe.

I think that's accurate. Plus URI is a true triple option team. Defenses struggle anymore with this niche offense - it's amazing how football goes in cycles - just about everyone in college football was running the triple option or the veer in the late 70's. Anyway, I don't think LU's option threat will be that great in that the dive will probably be pre-determined and running the option to perfection take lots of practice time. Option teams practice the option about 75% of their total practice time on O. LU will not pose an option threat like URI. But like you said, maybe they blow an assignment and Terrell breaks one or two.

Sly-the coma comment made me laugh. Sad but true...
I'd love to see us score once or twice this week. Maybe we'll get tired of getting stomped and get aggressive? Maybe Karcher will make up his mind on SOMETHING?

I have a feeling that we are going to snap out of our funk at some point. Whether or not that will be this Saturday is yet to be determined. Its not likely but its still possible nonetheless.

After our performance last week, people are in a wait-and-see mode, and not much into making projections. All of us (including the team) are really glad to finally be having our home opener.
Our defense was embarrassed last week, and I will be surprised if they don't come out and play with at least the intensity they showed at Marshall and VMI. They had shown real improvement from last year, and they know everyone is now questioning them.
