I noticed that it still has the CCU game as a Thursday game.

I'm sure the Media Guide went to print before the change. The media guide is not meant to be a constantly updated entity. Its printed in advance of the season and not ammended.

I noticed that it still has the CCU game as a Thursday game. On the back cover it is listed as a Saturday game... wher did you see Thursday?

New helmets on the back cover, old helmets on the front.

The opponents section on the site is from 2004.

Whoops! I'm guessing that might be a work in progress. Or it could be that the web provider forgot to change out that PDF file.

Gotta get this off my chest: is anybody else infuriated at the fact that w/ less than a week to go here- our "official" JOKE of a football home page hasn't been updated since JULY? We're D1 for crying out loud- HS sites are updated more frequently. We've all heard the "we have to pay for updates" garbage- ya know what, if we can't afford the website, we have REAL problems. YEESH! end of sermon (again)

Don't get me started :>)
Seriously, that is pretty bad. It all boils down to strategy and the message you want to send. I understand the lack of updates is due to a contract issue with the web vendor. As bad as they have been I hope we can get out of the deal and do our own page in house.
I bet the folks at LU could do it - no idea why we would farm sonething like a web page out.

yeah- I forgot to put in my tirade that H'burg has been consistently on point on this one. To the extent where I think he'd do the site from home if they let him. and it would be better!

A little off the topic but another source for pre-season info can be found at www.wrvlfm.com. Click on the FSN link and it will take you to the Flames Net page. Once there you can access the Countdown to Kickoff features in the audio archives section. These are 1 minute features on players, coaches and the upcoming season. Also, WRVL will stream all of the games live and will also archive the games and Coach Karcher's weekly press conference.

Thanks Medic - if I only new how to do more on the CPU than play on the net and check e-mail I'd be dangerous! I can't develop web sites - but I can offer input on marketing and content!
The football site in the off-season needs a "where are they now", or "flames football than and now" or "features on our current players and coaches" - anything but the tumbleweed blowing across the site two months before kickoff!

and the RVL thing is a great idea, why can't we at least LINK to it from the football site. Gee, wonder why we have a poor on-campus following.

The link to wrvl was supposed to be on the libertyflames.com site but the link is not correct. They have it as wrvlf.com. It should be wrvlfm.com. WRVL has asked that it be changed but so far nothing has happened. I know it's frustrating but until it is corrected just log on to the wrvlfm.com for the live stream and audio archives.

I hope Dr. Park is aware of all of the issues with the web page. It is just horrible. So many mistakes.

The website is not even reliable anymore. It is pathetic.

Thankfully, we are building an alternative source for info here.
To be honest, LU isn't alone in having a less than adequate athletics website. With the excpetions of the big boys, most official college sites lack a great deal of effort.

which I find puzzling due to the fact that we obviously already have the site, have IT people on staff, computer labs, undergrad and poss even grad COMPUTER SCIENCE students that could build and maintain these sites as a course of their jobs and/or studies. And we do NOTHING but pay to maintain JUNK sites.
thank you.

Sept 1st and we are still looking at the same limp "news" stories on the football homepage from JULY 29. The season starts in 2 days and no updates. Well done. libertyflames.com/football/

Since I've been doing my fair share of bashing the "official" site on here, I would like to point out that the updates are coming fast and furious now, 3-4 new stories per day, at least.
I'm actually using it for a reference again!
Good job, whomever is responsible.
