Way to go Brock. SlyFox - is this guy the answer at QB? I'm feeling really shaky about our QB and RB situations.

don't worry about the RBs man. Have some confidence in our boy from PA until proven otherwise.

Brock certainly showed he has the potential to be the answer during stretches last season. We shall see. I'm glad to see he has his head on straight academically one way or the other.

Very true. I hope he does well as that will give the other younger QB's time to develop.

My only question is can he win against good competition. We shall see. He seems to be on the right track right now but needs to step it up and show some leadership qualities and carry that down to his backups Travis Johnson and the 2 freshmen.

I think Brock is a very SMART QB-he's obviously very knowledgeable about what he's doing. I think the problems he had last year were largely as a result of not getting much playing time to start with-coming in midseason and being expected to just fall into place is a nice thought-but a little unlikely if you've been calling plays from the sidelines for the 6 previous games. My only concern with Brock would be his size-he's not scrawny-but smaller than most I'd say. Other than that, I'm excited to see what he's bringing to the table this year.

I remember very well Doug Flutie's 63 yd TD pass to beat Miami w/ no time left back in Thanksgiving of 84. The short guys can get it done!

You don't have to be a giant to be a quality college QB ... down here in Texas I can point to Major Applewhite, Drew Brees, Drew Tate and the Detmer brothers as examples.
But you do need to execute a scheme and put the fear of the pass into the minds of the defensive coordinators of opponents. Right now, no DCs are shaking in their boots about what we can do through the air. We need to improve that right now. Perhaps Brock can be the answer with a full season behind the first unit in practice and on the field.

I know that this isn't the place for it but word is we are playing Auburn next year as well as Wake Forest. Dr Falwell mentioned it in convocation this morning

Auburn and Wake next year - WOW! Should make for some nice guarantee payouts for the visitors. The influx of cash will help us in getting the FOC constructed.
Think big LU!

Auburn was supposed to be in 2007, though I heard from someone that LU may be backing off on that one.

Auburn would be a tall order no doubt. I like the idea of playing more "payout" games. Hey it worked for FSU when Bowden first arrived. The entire ADept at FSU was cash-strapped so they became road warriors and the rest is history. Not saying that LU will be the next FSU but the cash from D-I payout games would be very nice at this point in time.

My roomie, a manager on the football team, also mentioned something about playing Auburn next year. I'm happy to see LU taking on the Big East, ACC and SEC-we need to do that in more OOC scheduling, for if we want to be the best we need to play like the best, and in order to play like the best we need to regularly play the best.
