I thought I saw somewhere on this board that Gado had signed a contract. Well, I believe he was waived today. Hopefully there's a team out there who will pick him up, or maybe he can be named to a practice squad.

I think he got hurt near the end of the pre-season, and that messed his chances up.

He hurt his neck in a practice in early August and never got a chance to play in a preseason game. That really hurt. Guys like Gado need to show what they can do on special teams in preseason games to make a roster. Tough break for him.

Gado's been sent home...too bad really, he had great potential.

I'm bummed about it. Hopefully, he'll be able to work out and keep in shape over the year and get signed to another team next year. He's definitely got a lot of potential.

If the Chiefs were as impressed as they indicated during Mini-Camp, there's a high likelihood they'll send him to NFL Europe and then invite himback to camp next summer.
BTW, congrats on finally joining the ranks of registered posters, lufbfan3.

He made Pratice Squad which is good, or at least a start. James McKnight and Dwayne Carswell both started out on PS, I think both were playing ST by the middle of their rookie season. James is out he stopped playing last year after getting cut by the Giants, and Dwayne is still playing with Denver at OT after being moved from TE.

I think practice squad is great, he'll have time to work out some more and show what he's made of. I'm excited for him-I think he'll put the work in and really do well. I hope to see him on the actual team in the very near future, he's a great player and just a really nice guy in general.

If he's on the practice squad and is healthy, he will play this season ... either for the Chiefs or someone else. Any player on a practice squad can be signed onto another NFL team's main roster. There are always a bunch of injuries in the course of an NFL season and he'll get his chances on special teams.
