Recently I sent a question through Beckett.com asking about when Sam would have a rookie card. In todays issue they responded to my question and posted a nice pic of Sam!!!
He will have a card out soon. He will be the 52nd LU athlete featured on a sports card!!

Krh44 If you ever had time to list some of those names, I'd be curious to see who some of them are. See how many came from my era.

There are many pro athletes to come out of LU but it is not highly talked about. 52 is a very believeable number to me. Many baseball and football players and there are many hoops players over seas as well. I know Cliff Webber was drafted by the Celtics in 84, Julius Nwoso played in the NBA and the other card could be Aluma since he was a projected top 15 lottery pick going into his senior year.

Most of those came from baldspot, Scar & my era. I think 52 is a very reasonable number.

Who honestly collects LU sports cards? I bet if u added them all up together it might not surpass $2 in value.

I don't collect cards but I think having a plaque full of LU athlete's professional cards would be pretty cool. Most of my mementos aren't worth much to anyone else anyway. The one I like the best is the shirt I wore from the '87 LU flag football championship game. Go Dorm 8. HA

A poster of all of the cards would be cool as well...I'd buy the poster.

Maybe they could charge $1.99 for the poster in order to stay within "who does that's" budget.

i think the whole thing is pretty cool. i believe that the number is right on. we have had a lot of baseball talent roll out of Worthington stadium to the minors, and quite a few have had very good careers, but just coul dnot get to the next level. i can think of one player doug brady from my era, that was stuck in AAA fo a long time, but made a very nice living. get that list posted krh!
