Scar or anybody else who has access to the coaching staff:
There is a kid down here in Houston that plays for the Christian school that Stephon coached at before coming to LU. He's just going to be a sophomore this year (Class of 2008) but he is somebody we need to start working on right now.
His name is Steve Tcheingang. He's a 6'8" wing who already has mad game. He can slash or rain threes all day. If we wait until this kid is a junior, it will be too late in all likelihood for us to stand a chance. But if we plant a seed now, who knows.
RCSsports.com already has him as the #5 player in his class in the Houston area. If he continues to keep that type of ranking, he would probably be the top recruit we've ever brought into our fold.
I played with the guy at the Y this past week with a bunch of guys who are primarily former high school studs and current college ballers. And I couldn't figure out who this Asian kid who was dominating everybody was. When I found out he was just going to be a soph in high school I couldn't believe it.
He plays for Cypress Community Christian School which either has a Houston or Cypress address.
Please pass on word to Coach Dunton's staff.

I think he already knows about him. They are all over that kind of stuff.

Since it is Stephon's old school, I thought there was a chance they might already be in on him. But I wanted to be sure even though he's a couple of years away from signing.

A 6'8 wing who can shoot it, LU doesn't stand a chance at landing that kid, maybe if Steph was still here.

I'm afraid you may be right. This summer he's started to emerge as a Top-5 player in state and Top-30 in nation. But it can't hurt to make the effort.
