A victory at VMI could've kept us out of this predicament, but it appears from what I can tell that we need a victoty Thursday night in Asheville to clinch the 2 seed.
Considering our recent health issues, I have a feeling we need to have the 2 seed to have any chance of winning the conference tourney.
So suddenly, this game has much more riding on it than we would've thought a week or so ago.

I hope that is correct. I was sure how all the tiebreakers might shake out. Of course if we win down in Asheville then it is all a moot point.

I have to say that our guys played their best ball of the year and it is good to have that kind of momentum going into the tournament. The past 2 seasons Liberty has gone into the tournament with losses. Outcome, won one championship and lost a semi-final nail-biter. Momentum can be overrated but it is nice to have. Another top 2 finish for LU in the Regular season. BTW that is unprecedented in school history. 3 straight seasons of 2nd, 1st and 2nd place. Congrats to coach Dunton and the guys. If we shoot like that in the tournament, bring on Winthrop! I will say that Winthrop statistically has played tremendous defense all year. I just hope we get to the championship game. It would be nice to stay in Lynchburg but I will gas up the SUV and head to Rock Hill on Saturday if I have to. Should be fun. I am so ready for the Tournament! I will be tuning in to the coaches telconferences on Monday morning to see what they all have to say. I will take good notes and report any good stuff. Should be another fun tournament.

This is a huge win for LU being that it is very hard to win down in Asheville. The team as a whole shot the ball well and they finally had a decent showing at the charity stripe. If the flames rebound well and shoot their free throws well they will repeat as Big South Champions. Congrats to RD, Stephon, Coach Davis and Coach Martin. Scar I look forward to hearing back from you when you have an update from the coaches press conference on Monday. Your new name is Scar Kellogg instead of Clark Kellogg.

I would love to get a chance to be anything close to Clark Kellogg so thanks for the compliment GOAT. You remember how tough it is to win at Asheville. The Justice center has been unkind but recently LU has won the last 2 meetings. We just need to get Dees, Leo and Woodson as close to 100% as possible for next week. LJ, you should fly in next week. You can stay at my house. I am sure Jody Chapman and some others from the old days will be back next week.

I don't recall seeing Scar do that ridiculous toss up in the air to himself on free throws. So the comparisons to Clark are a real stretch.
Thanks for putting the recent success in the Big South in perspective. After the horrific non-conference portion of our schedule, it'd be easy to forget the success we have had in the Big South.

I might see if I can come to the east coast and check the flames out. I told RD that I wasn't coming back until my jersey is in the rafters (Just Kidding). Depending on their schedule It might be a possibility to show up and support the Flames.
