You mentioned you might be coming back down here to Houston this summer. Well the Fonde Pro League starts up on Monday. Here's the website: procityhouston.com/Its the usual suspects with a few new names. Most notably Skip to the Lou will be in the house. That alone will increase the already crazy atmosphere in the gym. I still haven't seen the final rosters to know who plays when. But there is a schedule on the site. I'll be out there Monday for the Opening Night.

I was there for opening night last evening. Damon Stoudamire was on a team with Jonathan Bender and others. Rashard Lewis was still recuperating and didn't run with his team against Stoudamire's boys.
In the next contest, both Steve & Cat no-showed. But on the floor were Mike James, Nick Van Exel, Moochie and others.
Sam Cassell was coaching one of the teams while Moses Malone, Robert Reid and a bunch of other current players were all just chilling and enjoying the show.
Its unbelievable that it is all free. Oh yeah, the a/c was actually working very well.

Sly, Let me know if you see Myron Allen play. If so let me know what you think. He played at Milby with Louis Trescott, Alton Ford, and Roy Smallwood in 98. He has bounced around from league to league, most recently the ABA. He can play.

I was there last night to get reaction from Rockets players after they rteached a deal to bring Stromile Swift onboard. I talked to Mike James.
Earlier in the day, my photographer & I stumbled across Damon Stoudamire getting a tour of Toyota Center by Carroll Dawson. I saw Damon last night at Fonde and he didn't want to talk. My guess is he'll join the Rockets for the low level exception if he can't find a really good deal somewhere else. The Rockets are going to be VERY good this season.
Let me know if you make it down here.

SLY you gotta link a wav file of one of your interviews. I have this mental picture in my head of you as the dude from the "boom goes the dynamite" clip but wearing a huge "stetson", spurs, and spitting chaw. and a NBC (?) mike.

We don't put our sports stuff up on the web. But I've never worn a Stetson in my life other than a few passig seconds to discover how much I hated it.

It ends August 17th. So it looks like they'll be wrapped up by then. But there will probably still be guys running every night pickup-style.
As for the pic, PAmedic. I bear absolutely no resumblance to Keith Olberman in Tijuana.
And sorry, no burros tied up out back of my adobe house with thatch roof.
