At least we are 9th! Seriously though... Not exactly the publicity we want. We should never be on a list like that in any sport with the money we spend and the standards we have... embarrassing!

"D-I foes are screaming "Give me Liberty (on our schedule)!" Put another way -- closest loss is by 13, against Buffalo ... and Longwood!"
On the plus side, UNC-Asheville is at #7.

Although, I might add, they used the "Give me Liberty (on our schedule!)" joke last year.

Creativity has been lacking on the ESPN.com for some time now.

They could have at least gotten our record right... They did... they don't list non D-1 games. So against D-1 schools you get the 0-5.

Creativity has been lacking on the ESPN.com for some time now. Any New Jersey Nets fan can tell you that. How many times do I have to read a headline that says "No Kidd-ing: Jason leads Nets past Sixers" or something? Or how they copped out with the MLB power rankings a year or two ago, opting instead for descriptions on half the teams, and calling it "top 10, bottom 5"? What a cop out. Or how everything is moving to ESPN Insider now? What, I have to pay nowadays to read Rob Neyer and Peter Gammons? And Bill Simmons' old stuff? Sorry, I'm anti-ESPN nowadays.

And how about the fact that sportscenter is completely played out. I can't stand any of the anchors. ESPN news is where it's at. All the info and none of the "flavor". Too bad they don't have it around here.
As for the bottom 10, that's really just their chance to make fun of teams. Like for example a couple of weeks ago, Kansas was on it because they kept losing. But obviously they're not one of the 10 worst teams. They would just like to make fun of stuff for our entertainment.

Personally I am a cbs sportsline or fox sports guy. I was listening to Keith Olberman and Trey Wingo on the Dan Patrick show, and they brought up a stat that ESPN televises 83% of the sporting events in the US. That means that no one there can have an opinion. That is why there is no creativity.

I've become partial to FOX Sports myself. And we have Chris Berman to blame for the trend toward the idiotic, sing song, hip hop delivery. Its catchy for 2 minutes and annoying for the remaining 58.

Time for the Men's Basketball Team to rise up and play like a Division 1 team. No excuse for these losses to teams like Lipscomb and Longwood. But when you don't rebound and you have one scorer then we could lose to anybody at this point in time.
