We're in good shape to win this game. I was more confident about it before they went down to BSC and beat them by 20 on their own court. We're still the better team and we're playing at home so advantage: us. I'm giving this a 73-67 score. We open up a lead and they come storming back. Tie it up at 3:00 to go and we pull away to finish up by 6. That's all my cards are telling me right now though. I'm a little nervous about this game though. Hopefully the students will turn out.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is a game really need to win to keep in step in this wide open conference race. Eyewitness reports after the game would be greatly appreciated.
With no SkyAngel, I don't get to hear all the witticisms and banter from Scar. ;D

I want to go, but it's like a sheet of sleet out there on the streets.

That was another close call but they rallied 72-71 ... but its 4-in-a-row.
Dees with 24, Lightbourne 20 & Blair 11.
Leo continues to improve down in the paint and then he buries the clinching FTs with :04 left.

PERfECT game!?! Great first game for the return of the students. There's nothing like a come from behind win like that to create excitement about the games. I wouldn't take a 20 point win over that.
Looking at the way UNCA just trounced BSC @bsc by like 20 (who just killed CSU by 26), I'd say any win was acceptable tonight, regardless of the fan excitement factor.
Lets hear some eyewitness reports.

Well,
I watched the game on TV. Boy was it exciting. Asheville led for most of the game...they were up by as many as 11.
They would have been up by 11 at the half, but Risher hit a three right before halftime, so it was 8.
Then Woodson was injured for a while and Lightburn had 3 fouls, so a lot of freshman played as well. Blair also appears to be having some health problems (something with his leg?)
Rashad is starting to gain confidence, and Monroe looked good in the first half.
Ashville had a chance to take a 1 point lead with 4 seconds, but their three point show was like half-way down before it popped out, and Lightburn got the rebound and made both foul shots (which was big because Asheville hit a buzzer beater 3 to set the final at 72-71).

Jimflamesfan thanks for watching 1st of all. Good synopsis of the game as well. I will add that Blair told me before the game that his hamstring was killing him. Woodson told me after the game that he wasn't even going to play the second half at all but he stretched and started feeling better....At one point 4 frosh and Blair were on the court in the second half. Dees hit some big shots down the stretch (seen that before) and Woodson did come back into the game. Risher was very good in Woodson's absence. Asheville played well enough to win the game. The biggest play of the game was when LU was down 1 after Dees hit a 3 which was after a scramble. Asheville had to inbound and they threw the ball length of the court out of bounds. 2 things happened: 1st, LU got the ball back with no time running off the clock and 2nd, with no time moving off the clock it prevented CJ Walker from re-entering the game. He had already blocked a ton of shots but without him in the game Dees went right to the hoop and converted the 3 point play. Asheville actually had the shot to take the lead that came so close to going down it was scary! Anyway, that was my 2 cents. EXCITING!!!!!
