moving this from the "battle of Lynchburg" thread to here, where it belongsthis kid is gonna be good (I just like the fact that he converts FREE THROWS) Anthony Smith was one of two players to net 18 points in the Flames' 84-50 victory over Lynchburg College on Friday evening.

And wonder where Anthony's fan club is now. He had some admirers posting on here back this summer.
Seriously, I love this kid's upside.

He's H-town's representative on the squad. So you know he's only going to improve every game.

He hasn't gotten much as much recognition as he derserves, I believe because he didn't have the immediate impact ala Blair as a frosh. But I see his early "struggles" (I don't even want to say struggles because he wasn't, maybe just his not lighting the court on fire) a little different. It seems like he's improved so much just over one semester. If he keeps up this learning curve. He is going to be GREAT very soon.

Anthony Smith is simply special. He is learning the game at this level at both ends of the floor and the improvement and confidence levels are amazing. I hope he continues to shine because he is a great kid and his family is really nice and supportive as well. They drive down from Northern Virginia a lot to watch him. Yes Sly he is no longer a Texan or a Houstonite! He is a Virginian now!!!!!

For the record, his Dad lives in San Antonio so he maintains his Texan status. I met Anthony's dad & grandmother in lake Charles. They are really great people as well.

his mom is a real nice lady. i met her and her husband last night at the high point game. so lets call a compromise half texan- half virginian. in any regard he is really playing well and we will need him to compete in big south play.

don't forget he was polite to me for the 7 seconds that we met at homecoming. Perhaps the most important indicator of his character- he respected the Medic ;D
