My brother currently is a junior in high school at Norlina Christian School which is just a small group A high school in North Carolina. However, this year they are potentially contending for the state championship, and the best player on their team is a junior 6-8 185 lb guard. He is still growing!! He could be the team's point but he plays on the wing and in the post because of his size. He has already received a letter from Temple. His name is Oladio (sp?). I have to ask my brother for his last name, but he is a good christian kid. I have not been able to find a picture of him, but I will continue searching. It is a small town in Norlina, North Carolina.

Thanks for the heads up. Obviously the coaches monitor this board and any tip is appreciated.

Coaches moniter the board?
I'm 6'5/215. Ha. If I wasn't a gimp, actually somehow herniated two discs in my back playing against Doug Stewert one day in LaHaye (probably from snapping around to watch him drain threes all day against me.. ha.)

Just a heads-up...
Sports Illustrated had the #2 high school in the nation as a place called "Montrose Christian" in Maryland. I hope we're taking a look up there.

You don't ever know about our guys. I provided Meyers and company an inside contact to Mt. Zion in Durham, NC (Tracy Mc Grady's school), and could not get anyone on the staff to even look. Funny thing though I was sitting in the stands with Phil Ford and some other recruiters from smaller schools, but couldn't get LU interested. Had a good relationship with the coach there at the time too.

Many of the schools like Montrose & Mt. Zion take kids who are either struggling academically and have questionable shots at qualifying or who are using a 5th season of high school ball to increase their standing in recruiting and for the NBA Draft. That doesn't mean we shouldn't work these schools. But it does indicate they are not as likely to be ripe for the harvest as traditional Christian schools.
Montrose' top two players are going to North Carolina (I think that was Tywon's final choice) and Texas.

The kid's name is Oladio Espinoza. They have a big game on December 15 against the defending 1A state champions. One of Temple's assistants will be at the game. I hope our staff at least looks into him because he will go under the radar since it is such a small school.
