www.lynchburg.edu/athletics/web%20photos/2005-06%20men's%20bball/team.jpg 0-6 These guys are bad, even by their league's standards. They have exactly 3 black guys. Possibly 3.5, I can't tell what one of them is. They have an average height of about 6'1" If one of these honkies doesn't get dunked on I'll be very disappointed. www.lynchburg.edu/athletics/sports/basketball_m/roster.htmAlso, apparently they have 22 peole on the roster. I guess they won't have to worry about tired legs. LC Hornets: Brookville Bees: edited because the large picture was making the thread very annoying to read

check yourself luconn. this kind of crap is uncalled for "Possibly 3.5, I can't tell what one of them is." it may be tongue and cheek for you, but i call that a bit offensive!

Well, I try to be offensive as possible. I added the .5 as I was unsure. Not saying he was half and half. But I did notice you weren't offended by my use of "Honkey".

Good Crowd tonight. I was surprised that at the nonstudents section though. I thought we struggled early. Looked up at one point and we were only up 6. We finally started to pull away at halftime. We controlled 2nd half and hit some shots. They hit some 3s(prayers) that kept them from getting totally blown out of the gym. Hubbard looks good despite the missed dunk. Smith had a nice dunk at the end to gym getting the foul as well. Blair played the game w/out him feeling like he had to take every shot. A lot of talent hopefully they will come together sooner than later.

BOX SCORE
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Liberty University Flames defeated the LC men’s basketball team 84-50 Friday night in non-conference action from the Vines Center on the LU campus.

I agree wholeheartedly with bigsmooth on this topic. The 3.5 was certainly unnecessary and rather rude.
Running smack about a team's abilities is one thing, bringing their racial makeup into play is out of line.
All that said, I'm glad we drilled them last night. Somehow I feel there are some in the local media who will be talking about how LC had an off night.

I wasn't referring to you, Chris. There are severa other local media in town with a LC fixation and distaste for all things associated with LU.

Interesting, Sly. I honestly don't watch enough of WSET to get a gauge of how much they cover the other schools. I probably should watch more. I don't listen to local radio at all. (Sorry givemethemic).

WOW: anyone else have an issue with THAT ONE? I'm betting Coach Dunton does. Just making 75% of those woulda been another 8 points. it didn't matter this time but I bet you that bites them in the rear on another night.

I made the trek down to Lynchburg for the weekend and watched this game. Our defense is not what it needs to be as Lynchburg College got too many open looks at the basket. Anthony Smith may be on the verge of breaking out as he was impressive along with Eric Bigby who whenever he touched the ball took it strong to the hoop. Our offense was a little sloppy and needs our point guard to penetrate and dish to open up better scoring possibilities.
It was great to meet a few of you guys who post on this board. Being more specific I had a great time talking to Scar and getting to meet Coach Dunton personally. It just so happens that a recruit came down from New York to attend the game as well. He is a big guy who plays the power forward position and will hopefully help fill a much needed position. The Flames are going to be a very good team next year if this guy from NY along with Armon Jones take the court.

Eli, it was great seeing you too. I always enjoy seeing fellow Firehouse members at the game. I am sure I will be seeing LUConn, Jimflamesfan Sportscritic and others in the Vines this year as well. Don't be a stranger. Holla at your boy SCAR!...

Evidently we wouldn't provide some "extra curriculars" to his family so they pulled the kid off the table, took their marbles and went home. Too bad- he was apparently a playa. Its a shame but thats the ugly side of the business of MBB at D1 level these days.

There's no need going into the details of why a player isn't coming. Let's just move on.

Well, it's a win. That game should have recieved top coverage in the Burg - it's crazy that it didn't. Obviously, we have work to do, but I understand that our team has great guys with a strong work ethic. We'll see how it all develops. Go Flames ! - and there are a lot of twists and turns in the recruiting process.

There's no need going into the details of why a player isn't coming. Let's just move on. ya know- I used to agree, but we have so many know-it-all reactionary fly by nighters jumping in and out, that I guarantee w/out an explanation, you woulda been hearing how "Dunton blew another one" or "Dunton loses more talent" or "Dunton can't recruit". sometime we gotta defend our own- when possible. I'm not gonna harp on it, but the character of some of these families does come into question. Enough said though, I agree. We need to leave this to point back to if it comes up, though. THANKS SLY!

this kid is gonna be good (I just like the fact that he converts FREE THROWS) Anthony Smith was one of two players to net 18 points in the Flames' 84-50 victory over Lynchburg College on Friday evening.
