Yeah, Memphis might very well be the best team that Winthrop has seen in a few years (possibly better than Gonzaga last year). It'll be a very difficult matchup for WU. As for Alabama, they'll be very tough too, but I think WU matches up alot better with them.

See Chris, its not that hard to give yourself a little pub. ;D
I'm guessing that was one of the cooler trips you've taken covering hoops.

One of them, yes. I liked Rupp.
Covered a game at UCLA, and Pauley is an absolute dump. Expected a lot more out of it. Other cool venues I've covered games at:
UNLV: Crowd was bad, but the arena is sweet. No one seems to care about the Rebels any more.
New Mexico: Lives up to its billing, even if attendance has gone down in recent years.
Arizona: The students are too far away from the floor, so the atmosphere isn't what it should be.
Purdue: Neat place, decent town. Fun nightlife.
Arizona State: Eh.
USC: Well, the Sports Arena might be in the worst part of L.A. I was happy to get out without being mugged.
Oregon: Mac Court is a great old venue. It has real character. I didn't get the full atmosphere because NAU was soundly beaten in both trips there, but it was fun nonetheless.
Idaho State: Uh, kidding.

And I bet you are counting down the days until you add the Winthrop Coliseum to your list....
OK, probably not...

WEF: Your place has got to be better than some of the places in the Big Sky. Portland State, Sacrament State and Idaho State play in glorified high school gyms (like Chuck South does). Weber State, Montana, Montana State and Eastern Washington have excellent facilities. Northern Arizona is in a dome like Northern Iowa, so it's cavernous.
Winthrop is one of the Big South roadies I'm planning to make, so I look forward to it.

I know I'm definitely biased, but I think Winthrop has a very nice facility, and the work they've done in the last couple of years to the exterior and interior have made it look great...The fans are close to the action and even when half-full, the place can get pretty loud. Hopefully when you come visit, there will be 4000+ people in the stands...

im glad we kept the game somewhat respectable. after watching the UVA game, i thought it would be a lot worse. seriously, if someone else does not step up besides larry blair, we are in trouble this year. if im an opposing coach i run a box and one and make someone else beat me. im looking forward to pounding LC and getting the win.

The Vines Center is just too big. Maybe we should just have convo during the basketball games, eh? That would fill er' up!
