Avoiding 0-3 in the Big South by playing possibly the best team in the conference is not a positive thing. The one thing we having going for us, home court, may not mean anything. I don't think the semester starts until wednesday, which means the students won't be back until Tuesday. That equals trouble for us as I will probably be the only one there. Hopefully the free admission and donations to the tsunami victims will bring out the townies tonight.

Well, not a lot of people there, but it seemed to help Liberty nerves.
LU wins, I think it was 74-72, but LU had a 10 point lead for most of the game.
Hopefully they can pull off these next two road games.
Go Flames!

So was the offense flowing some or were Dees and Blair just forcing up shots that were falling?

Actually, our frontcourt looked a lot better. Leo Lightburn scored a lot, and Rashad Robinson was getting steals and rebounds in the first half (although he struggled at the foul like).
Dees and Blair played well together as always. Turner appears to be healing as well.

Okay... so I checked the score earlier and it was like LU 60 something and Birmingham Southern 44... HOW DID WE ONLY WIN BY TWO? ?

Really bad foul shooting...
I haven't seen it this bad before...hopefully it was a one time thing.

If we're getting something out of the frontcourt, perhaps our fortunes are beginning to turn after all.
That's a big victory and hopefully a real confidence booster. If we had blown the big lead, it could have been a dagger to our already fragile psyches.
Let's start making this winning thing a habit.

It's is finally coming together for the Flames...not saying we are about to run away with the conference but Woodson has finally got the troops rolling and playing well and Blair, Dees and Co. look a lot better because of it. We need to grab the next 2, get Woodsons injuries a rest and i think we can make another great run.
as for the Birm. South. game...put Robinson's free throw struggles aside, he played a great game. It was our frontcourt's defense and even offense that helped us win tonight.

They looked great last night. ;D Dees found his shot apparently, Woodson is smooth and knows where everybody on the court is without looking, Blair is Blair, Rashad is finally making layups, and Lightbourne is a human pogo stick, an atheletic put-back machine.
The game got so close because Blair had 4 fouls with 10 minutes left and Dees had 4 with 7 minutes left. It's a given that when 50% of your Offense is out of the game the lead will deminish. Not to mention Sigaurdson got fouled while hitting a 3 pointer and they kept fouling rashad (who can't hit free throws).
