A lot of folks are watching the Geezer Bowl tonight. But I doubt LUconn is.

Hp looks good for awhile then they heave one five feet behind the three line with 30 seconds left on the shot clock.

Hp looks good for awhile then they heave one five feet behind the three line with 30 seconds left on the shot clock. Poor decision making and falling apart down the stretch has been the M.O. of the Lundy era so far at High Point...

Wow...what a drive by Blair...he's fun to watch when he's on, as long as it isn't against WU.

Neither team seems to want to move feet defensively. Both are getting easy drives.

Rell is the man!

Losing Rell is bad the way he was playing ... but AZ is a bigger loss for HP.

LU's got this. It was either gonna be a HP blowout or a close LU win. HP will fold under pressure like they always do.

Bigby hits 1-of-2 from the FT line to tie it up with just over two minutes to go.

We really needed this one ... its a real confidence booster and it sends a signal to the rest of the league that we're not to be dismissed.

Postgame Interview with Randy Dunton
We are too much of a doughnut (on offense) but have to give a lot of credit to Rell Porter and Eric Bigby. Russell Monroe never got it started in the second half. We were fortunate that the 10-0 run that High Point started with didn't knock us out of the game. Jeremy Eck will be getting a cortizone shot and hopefully will be back to the form he was in the fall. The guys needed this for there confidence. Big recruit was here tonight who is committed to coming to Liberty. Radford will be difficult for us with Whit Holcomb Faye and Oliver but I believe I have the best defensive player in Rell Porter and Anthony Smith has come miles in being a defensive player. Their (High Point) interior players are probably the 2nd or 3rd best frontcourt players in the league but Rell Porter was able to give AZ Reid fits.

His name is Dwight and he's a transfer from Providence and Coach Gilliam (Sp?) from UVA was at the game tonite and actually coached up there and told some people he was with tonite that He's seen him play a lot and can do EVERYTHING that Blair can do but is bigger and stronger, he says the kid is a real player.....dont throw stones my way, i just recalled what was said Let me just say this, That was one of the best games i've ever attended and is bigger than any win we had last year...and we couldnt have done it without (besides the obvious) Rell Portor....He WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to get it done, he plays like a 7 footer....Every year we have someone step up around BS time, and last year it was Leo, and this year it could be a bunch, Doug, Smith, Bigby, but right now Rell is standing out more than anyone b/c he's looking like the answer that we had so many questions about down low.....maybe this win will hold off all the Fire Coach D posts for at least 1 day! Ohh, and this just in....Blair has reached SUPERSTAR status

Ok here's the name of the boy who signed tonite...Dwight Brewington At the end of the game, all the players were in a circle for prayer and Dwight joined them and had most of the team come up to him and made him feel like he was part of the victory....everything is signed sealed and delievered so chalk that one up as a big night all around for LU BBALL Interesting note, he's actaully 70% hearing impared, so he should hear coach D at a normal volume ;D....I talked to him for a little bit and he's a really nice kid with a good head on his shoulders and looks JUST LIKE Brian Woodson Read this...I didnt believe the Blair comment but after reading some of the things he's done maybe so friars.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/brewington_dwight00.html

I had a chance to introduce myself to Dwight and really seems like a nice kid, I don't know all the reasons as to why he is here, but I understand that he was not really happy with the some of the coaches. After the game he was in street clothes just shooting some and I watched him hit several 3's. Alexis used some of his connections up in North to help land him, but he is going to be enrolled this semester and will be eligible for the winter 07 semester and has 2 left from my understanding.

Excellent game, sorry I missed it but had to support JoePa and the boys even though I nearly threw up at least half a dozen times. But I digress- anyone notice we are #1 in the BSOUTH conf already . for a day anyway! Flames open BSC play by topping Panthers
