I know that this guy took us to the promised land last year but this year is getting totally ridiculous. It kind of reminds me of some of Mel Hankinsons sorry teams. We should not be falling so far so fast. I thought that the recruiting class we brought in was supposed to be great. I might be a little premature here but will the Big South conference performance determine this guy's fate. I would appreciate some comments here on this.

I think the fact that Karcher is still around tells you a little bit about how this school's AD operates. This coach is going nowhere for a while. Apparently, you have to nationally embarrass LU before getting fired. We'll finish in the middle of the Big South this year in my opinion.

A little testy just before the holdiays, Steve? Perhaps you're as tired of dealing with holiday shopping as I am. I understand your frustration wholeheartedly. I dread checking the scores these days to see how bad the damage is this time. But as LUconn mentioned, it takes quite a bit to even light a small flicker under any coach's seat up on the mountain these days. Unless some moral terpitude occurs, any coach under contract is as safe as that 15-year-old fruitcake you just received in the mail from your Uncle George. Now whether or not he SHOULD be on the hot seat is another matter.

Considering your opinions I guess we need to ride out the poor start this year and hope that the Maryland and Seton Hall games don't get too far out of hand. Then starts the Big South conference where every game is winnable. I would think that finishing in the middle of the Big South would be unacceptable considering its low rating.

I agree wholeheartedly that finishing anywhere other than atop the Big South is a major disappointment. But the reality of our current situation is that we probably are going to be fortunate to finish in the upper half of the league at this rate.
I don't feel we should be content with this performance.

Hello Flamers, you are in the Big South Conference...no Athletic program belonging to it is willing to pay off a coahces contract after he is fired, its simple economics....Coach Man boobs will be around for the duration of his flaming contract.

Contract buyouts are rather rare at mid-majors where alumni pressure is nowhere near as strong as at the major powerhouses. But schools like Liberty have learned to write the contracts as such to provide a reasonable out for the school (or the coach, for that matter).
Schools like Radford are lucky to understand what a contract is. Mountain folk don't take too kindly to words and such. ;D
