Big game for the ladies, even though SMU (C-USA) is only 3-5 this is a must win game. With a win we can move to 4-3 and get some mo going into Monday's game at Norfolk.St. For those of you that get a chance to listen we will have Katie and Kristal on after halftime to talk about being inducted in the hall of fame.

Big ups to Katie for getting her number retired! She earned it. Pic I got while at a volleyball match (Katie is on the right):

Well it wasn't pretty with too many turnovers in the first half but we did play a good team in SMU. I think they will be in the top half of their conference when it is said and done. I thought that LU took a step backwards in terms of breaking fullcourt presses. This team has been working on that in practice and actually done quite well in breaking presses up to this point. I think it is fundamentals that LU is not doing when it comes to other teams pressing us in the full court. But SMU is a good team from the Conference USA. I was really impressed with SMU. Their guards are quick and can cause some problems especially if teams don't get back on defense. Other than porous ball handling and free throws which we hit some to put SMU away, I thought we did everything else right tonight.

Plus SMU has been to the NCAA tournament or the WNIT postseason for the past few years so this is a good win for LU.

Missed the broadcast. It is nice to know LU has one basketball team on campus that can compete. Nice win against a big name school and hopefully blow out Norfolk State and get ready for Florida.

Missed the broadcast. It is nice to know LU has one basketball team on campus that can compete. Nice win against a big name school and hopefully blow out Norfolk State and get ready for Florida. We can't overlook Rhode Island either...while C-USA and the A10 aren't quite on the same level as the ACC and SEC, they are still quite a big step above the Big South. Last time LU faced an A10 team, it was Richmond at home, and we lost. Norfolk St. got beat by Winthrop, so we shouldn't have any trouble there. But the matchups at the Florida tournament should be interesting...

I'm too lazy to look: how many double-doubles is that for her this year?

Not sure but I would say close to 7 since she is averaging 21.4 pts and 10.4 rebounds a game. Wow.
