OK,
I finally had a chance to really get into this year's version of Madden on PS2. I just bought it 3 weeks ago but I was living in a hotel that only had wireless internet so I really couldn't play online. However with my new flat PS2 and my home TV this weekend I was able to go online and do some serious damage. I ran off 10 straight Sunday and early Monday before losing to one of my friends that litteraly only runs 4 plays on offense. I just wasn't concentrating. in 2004 version I was ranked as high as 198 in the world. Last season I beat # 27 overall. Those guys in the top 500 are really cheesy players for the most part though. Madden has done a great job of removing unrealistic stuff and with the pass view finder window thingy, long passes are difficult to complete. All passes are tough really. I like this year's version better than ever. Madden is the only thing I play on PS2. I have online play in my current place now so I will be online at some point most nights. timscar20 is my screen name. Hit me up if you want to play.

After finishing my crusade on the football page ( libertysports.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=Football&action=display&thread=1114741994) I must now make an attempt to pass along my wisdom on this page. Come back to us SCAR... rent a movie, buy a book, go to a ballgame, take your wife to dinner, watch TV for heavens sake. As Dr. Phil would say... "Son, you have ish-ya's... you have to name it to claim it... and your name is Zelda" What's next? A thread on Dungeons and Dragons?

funny stuff. Don't tell me there are no Madden players out there. How disappointing. I was hoping for some competition. I like to play people I know because they are less likely to quit. Believe me the Madden crowd is not like the Dungeons and Dragons crew or the Trekkies (even though I love classic star trek). Many NFL players play online all the time. I don't go to tournaments or anything but my boys do and they tell me about celebs that are there mixing it up. If you like football or fantasy football even, then Madden is going to hook you if you try it. Trust me on this one.

That's because pro athletes have too much time on their hands hanging out in hotel rooms while on the road. I can confirm the near fanatical following of PS2 among MLB, NFL & NBA players. As for me, I don't have the time. But I understand how addictive it can be. I was the play-by-play voice on an NFL title a few years back for a company that went belly up during the tech meltdown.

I can picture this: SLY, sitting in his Stetson, stained wife-beater tank and underwear in a hotel room, swearing at and slamming a game controller on the floor in frustration as SCAR scores TD after TD on him.
