WNBA star Sheryl Swoopes admitted she was gay, according to ESPN. She also added this quote:
"The talk about the WNBA being full of lesbians is not true," Swoopes says. "There are as many straight women in the league as there are gay."
If there really are as many straight people in the league as there are gay... Well, 50 percent gays really would mean that the league is full of homosexuals, now, wouldn't it?

Oh boy, ED. Nice topic!
TECHNICALLY, I suppose that "full" would = "all" or "nearly all", so she would be correct.

I was tipped off by a PR hack that Sheryl would be having news conference Thursday to make this revelation. We were asked to embargo the info until then. Obviously, ESPN used this opportunity to jump ahead.
This story is dripping with irony. There are plenty of unoffical rumors that have floated down here in Texas for the past two decades. Within the past year, we had been hearing about things off the record around town that are now confirmed by this new revelation. Her son Jordan is a ballboy for the Comets and is around the team all the time. He seems like a real good kid.
Obviously, this isn't your standard deal. But I'm sure all this will be coming out in the next day or so.

My take on all this is that I see homosexual sin the same as I sin heterosexual sin outside of marriage so I will deal with this with my daughter, who loves basketball, the same way I would if my son like the Vikings. People make bad choices. This behavior is wrong and the only thing we can do is pray for this individual. I hate that my children know what the word gay means and that it is not happy.

That's interesting comparison with the Vikings (who as Jim Rome stated seem to think they are "real" Vikings for some reason). But its very apropo.

Interesting to me that she says in the story "Discovering I'm gay just sort of happened much later in life" and "Being intimate with [Alisa] or any other woman never entered my mind."
Wait! You mean she wasn't born that way?

this should not be a shock! im sure some of you have been to a WNBA game, and i have seen lesbians there and it is obvious, and their are young girls there with there families that seem to have a normal family life to christians. yes some people will be turned off, but ya know there are gays in all sports, and that is not going to change. so as christians do we not attend games b/c they are gay??? no you support the team and pray for the sinner. im sure there will be people that will tell their kids not to like swoopes, but that is wrong IMHO.
