Here is more about the ensuing drama surrounding Penn St. head coach Rene Portland and dismissed player Jennifer Harris: sports.espn.go.com/ncw/columns/story?columnist=voepel_mechelle&id=2253956Liberty and the upset is mentioned quite a bit in this article as well...fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) Voepelle just focuses on the fact that we beat them and not on Falwell and the school's stance on homosexuality (though she does have another article of her own on this very subject that she wrote during our amazing Sweet 16 run).

I'm not gay, I just act like one. Ha, she must be making her family members very proud.
Good Luck at James Madison.

couple interesting points here:
1. "One of those players, Jennifer Harris, has since filed a complaint against Portland with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission."
hmm, lived here 35 years, didn't know we had one of those. is there a "Commissioner of Human Relations"? and does he/she get to tell us what kind of "relations" we're allowed to have?
2. "The National Center for Lesbian Rights and the law firm of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin are representing Harris, who has since stated she is not a lesbian but believed Portland thought she was and discriminated against her because of it."
ok, huh? say that again- slowly. only a lawyer could go ahead with THAT argument- "its not what you THINK I did, its what I think YOU think I think you think I did." still confused.

I saw the repeat of outside the Lines on SportsCenter. To me it sounds like the Penn State coach and some of the players are having a hate the sin and the sinner approach to dealing with gays and lesbians in comments made during the piece. I also think the loss to LU in the tourney was a "reason" to get rid of the players.
A lot of she said, she said and allegations told between the parties.
