Attended practice tonight and really liked what I saw. This team, which most of you know will be quit different this season. But it's a good different, this team is very deep in the backcourt and I really think that you will enjoy the product that will be on the court. A few things that I noticed tonight, 1. The guards can really shoot the rock, Allyson, Courtney, and freshmen Rachel Hammond are all going to be 3 point threats. 2. The team as whole is alot faster and they can really run the floor. 3. Defensively they really get after it and I think they will give teams fits with there speed. First Exhibition is next Friday night at home against Athlete's in Action. With that just givemethemic

I also had the opportunity to watch the practice. There is tons of potential on this team for this season. This team to me will be an exciting team to watch. There are no seniors on this team so you know what is going down in 06-07 when that season rolls around.

OK, I'll bite. How did the triplets look on the floor?

The triplets all looked pretty good. They are all about 6-2 and move very well, honestly they are difficult at first to tell apart. Megan will create quit an inside/outside presence. If you are trying to compare her with someone, I would say Rima as far as the inside/outside touch, but I have now seen several different times where she will easily make 10 3's in a row with no problem. This is a great freshmen group. As the sportscritic stated NO Seniors and only 4 Juniors, very young but very good. With that just givemethemic

OK, I'll bite. How did the triplets look on the floor? Megan and Moriah didn't play in the scrimmage...nursing some minor injuries...they did play a bit on the side goals and didn't seem to be hobbled at all... Carey is probably just staying on the side of caution... Feagin also didn't play but should be OK soon... Egle's knee is keeping her out too but she expects to be ready in a month. This team could be pretty good... they played the guys tough tonight... it's going to be rough winning a K-State type game early... but once they gel, it could be a great run. Almost impossible to top last year... but a year or two down the road... who knows. The Sweet 16 is giving them an in with some great recruits.

Hey fsn32 any word on any potential recruits for the 06-07 season? Any one that may come to mind?

Our #1 recruit has just been here on a visit... haven't heard how that went but I understand we are going after a high calibar of player, so she must be pretty good if she is #1 on that list.

I met her weekend too and she seemed like a nice girl. Adam Deyo assistant coach spent a lot of time with her and me during the practice and we talked a lot about how she would fit in with the group they have there. He was doing a good job of conveying the type of team and the atmosphere they have created within their group. He told her several times that she is a high priority and in fact is their top priority. She has a teammate that is a jr too. She is from the DC area and if I am still around here this winter I will get to go watch her play...My contract at AOL may end sooner than I anticipated if they don't get funding so I may be back in the Burg soon.

I had the opportunity to attend the Flames Club Meeting to hear Coach Green speak. He introduced his staff and talked about his team about how the style of play is going to change. He is still unsure how good we will be yet. It is still early. He spoke of the talent that it is very good and young. He talked about the potential recruits and how the program has had somewhat of an impact from the Sweet 16 run. The bad news was that Coach Green said that there are only 2 scholarships available for this recruiting class and how he wished that he had 4 or 5 scholarships. He also said that there are some high caliber recruits looking to play on the next season (06-07 year). But can only take the two best players because of the availability of scholies. Some good things said about that overall. Exhibition on Friday (11/4) against Athletes in Action at 7:00pm in the Vines Center.

sportscritic I told you I have much love for the Lady Flames. I like the coaching staff and the players all seem to be very humble and have great work ethic. I even joined the LU women's basketball group on Facebook.com. I hope to work more of their games on radio this year in fact.

I was just giving you a hard time that's all when we had our conversation back in the summer. I know you don't disrespect the Women's basketball team.

I think he was saying that with no seniors on the team there are only a few scholarships available for next year's freshmen class.

That's exactly what he meant. You can only give out the total number available. And on a team Freshmen & Sophomore-laden roster, there is only so much attrition.
