As the resident paramedic on the board, I advise you- guest- to watch your blood pressure. You may end up having a stroke and we'd have no one to support the ladies so fanatically. By the way- I agree that the womens' team is largely under appreciated on campus- we have morons supporting a men's team that has been historically insignificant while ignoring a very successful womens' program. PA medic First of all I am not mad at anybody if that is what you are implying. I really like to debate about sports. I just wish the students and the community would get behind this team. My blood pressure is just fine thank you.

I am just saying that anything can happen in the NCAA tourmanent. In a way SCAR sorta has a defeated attitude about the team based on his responses he has made. Being in the control room watching a women's game on television at the Vines Center in my opinion is not being at the game. It is being physically in the stands sitting down and actually watching live. I still believe that next's year team will be motivated and hopefully that Senior leadership rubbed off on the younger players. The Women's team in my mind will be far better than the Men's team.

Former player, you don't have to use the word hell the way you did. Good for you that you support LU. I can use hell any way I want too. Last I checked it wasn't a swear word.

Formerplayer, when was the last time you checked? And as for cuss words...I don't really care, b/c in my opinion there are words out there that are far worse than cuss words...such as those used in gossip and deliberate hurtful slander.
But aside from that, I did go to a lot of the women's games, and we do have 6'3" triplets coming in plus Egle is 6'5" and can shoot the three (and in my opinion, had she not been injured before the NCAAs, LSU would've had a heck of a time guarding Katie in the paint and Egle from the perimeter) and I've seen the bench play and they are really good (Roli Ann Nikagbatse scored in double digits against K-State).
We are returning 1 starter (Allyson) and I for one believe we'll win the Big South again next year (though I don't think we'll get any of the ridiculous 50+ point margins of victory). Remember, Katie, Kristal, and the rest came in the year after the Wilkersons and Kisseleva graduated...and this year's class is being touted as the best recruiting class ever to come into LU.
While I doubt we'll make the Sweet 16 again next year, I can see us getting past the first round if we get a slightly more respectable seed (11, 10). And I can see another Sweet 16/Elite 8 run sometime in the next 4 years.

Guest, I am glad that you watch the Flames Television Network and that you support the Lady Flames. You keep saying the women's team is better than the men's team which is irrelevant really but for the sake of this discussion I will address it. ITS WOMENS BASKETBALL! Yes they have come a long way but to put it in perspective if Katie Feenstra had a male counterpart that went 8th overall in the draft he would be an instant multi-millionaire. Katie, God bless her will not make more than 50K. No slam on Katie or on Women's basketball but there is a reason more people go to the men's games despite the fact that they have not succeeded at the same level as the girls. In fact no team on campus had had that kind of success except may track and field....Secondly, being in the control room or in the seats or at home or just picking up the paper the next day to find out who won, I am a Lady Flames supporter! I do hope to get to more games next year but if I don't, it does not mean I don't support the team. If I were not working the men's games there would have been plenty of games missed by me....As far as money and publicity, I didn't say nor imply that you mentioned those. I only mentioned it to point out that I would do the games for fun and for free (as I did on radio a few times this year). Guest we really welcome your comments but I have to echo Sly Fox's sentiment and say that you should at least register your name and stuff. Also, I would like to meet you so you can Know me as more than a TV announcer and part time Lady Flames fan . Many of the people that post on here do know me personally and since I am not posting annonymously, I just thought you might be someone that knows me personally. Lastly lets talk about the 2005-06 Lady Flames. Way too early for predictions but I will say that the talent they have coming back easily makes them the best team in the Big South. Egle is a decent player. I really don't think she would have been a difference maker in the LSU game. We couldn't get the ball over half court and when we did we turned it over. But that is not on the table for debate right now. Roli-Ann is really a good player. She plays and beats boys in LaHaye in one-on-one hoops. The Frazee girls will be freshmen and being home schooled for most of their lives I would be shocked if they came in and dominated their first year of hoops. It just doesn't work that way. Do I hope they come in and dominate? Yes. Do I hope the girls make the sweet 16 again? Yes. But ask Carey Green himself or any basketball expert how tough it is to do. Guest clearly you have never competed at a high level of basketball or you would not be so adamant about our chances. We all hope it will happen the way you say it will but again, being realistic most would have to agree with my statement about our chances of getting to the Sweet 16. One last thing. Seeding is everything. Say we struggle early because of all the new faces and we lose 9 or 10 games and 2 or 3 Big South games. Will we get a 10 seed? As Former Player meant to say, Heck no. . We would get a 15 or 16 and have to play an LSU and it would be one and done.

I forgot one thing. Ease up on my partner dude. Ray does a great job. He will admit he doesn't know a great deal about basketball but he is learning everytime he gets on the air. His strength is Play by Play and I really enjoy working with him. Again, thanks for watching. I hope in the future everyone on this board will have a chance to watch us on a regular basis. I think the new AD has that same vision. Guest, thanks for keeping things interesting too. Now please go register my friend.

Dont know if this has been said yet, but I'll point it out again b/c some people just dont understand how though ANY D1 sport is to play...Our women's team will pratice against guys in order to get better....these guys are LU Students that are honestly scrubs and they still can give the girls a run for their money....so you do the math

We would get a 15 or 16 and have to play an LSU and it would be one and done. I am sorry Scar but it is the truth man. When was the last time that the men's basketball team made the sweet sixteen? Never. There was no excuse to lose to Charleston Southern in the first round this past season. I even told some students to stop moping and come see the women play. I wouldn't mind meeting you one day. I don't know you as a person. Like I said again I really believe that they will be motivated to work hard in the offseason and you never know what will happen. Well we played like we were scared against LSU but only had 6 turnovers in the second half. So we played them a little more closely in the second half. If we had a decent performance in the first half then it could have been a little closer. For the millionth time I didn't say it would be easy to replace those seniors that left. There have been freshman at schools who have come in and made a immediate contribution. I may have not competed in high school hoops but I have been watching that for a long time too. I know my sports pretty well. I still like our chances that anything can happen next season. I don't care if it is women's basketball or alien's play basketball the women's basketball team is better than the mens team. The women's basketball team can compete with teams from the top 25 while the men get slaughtered by 50 points to top 25 teams. I go to all of the men's games too. I will still support the men's team. Hopefully they will rebound from a disappointing season. They had the talent to compete for the Big South title but never played consistently. Explain to me how in the world did they almost lose to a D3 school. When it comes to brocasting I can be sorta critical to if they know what they are talking about. He does mention some decent things and I will leave that alone. Now I will try to register again.

Actually Guest I think I agree with a lot of what you just said. Anything can happen. However are you suggesting that the women's team can beat the men's team? I don't think you are but I just want to make sure because reading is different than talking to someone so sometimes things get lost in translation. No one would argue that the women are more successful. They are the most successful group in school history from a single season standpoint and an overall consistancy for 10 years standpoint. I agree that they should be supported just as much as the men. I would like to see 10,000 people there for both sports. Liberty's men's and women's attendance reflect the national averages for the most part at every level. Men's sports in general are watched and attended more than women's. Even so, the girls draw shameful crowds. With all the success you would expect at least 5,000 people there per night especially in the post season. I will say it again, I wish the Lady Flames well and I hope you are right. I just know so many things have to come together for a repeat of this season. Stranger things have happened I guess. BTW I am glad that you find my commentating informative. How do you watch if you are at all the games? TIVO! I don't know how I ever lived without it! Looking forward to meeting you soon Guest. Keep on posting. This is the most life we have had on this board in a few weeks.

How long did it take you to get your password? I am not saying the women's team will beat the men's team if they were to play against each other. It would be a long night for the women if that happens. I would like to see the same amount of people who go to the men's games go to the women's games as well. At least make it even instead of it being lopsided. I agree on that point. I record the games on a home game day and come back home and watch them again after it is over and see what the men's or women's team did wrong or right. We will see what happens this season. Hopefully both teams will be solid next season.

The upgrade over the past day or so has sort of bogged down the server. But we should be back flying shortly.

The lithuanian pipeline wasn't because of Chris Carroll. He was a great recruiter in the US but that Lithuanian pipeline will stay open and it will probably expand with the new assistant that Carey Green hired.
