OK, its game night and we haven't even technically started a thread on game. Consider it done.
If you are able to receive the game on ESPN2, it'd be cool to do updates on the game as it happens here. If not, we can keep up based on scoring updates.
I'll be here and hope to see you here as well.

The other mid-major from Virginia is getting smoked so that game should prohibit our girls from getting some national run. Let's get this game going. I know Pat Summit is about to go past Dean Smith. But come on ... its a home game for the Lady Vols against a bad Western Carolina team.

3:30 into play, we are up 6-2. At least we're not getting run out of the gym like most of the other low seeds playing right now.

Down by 5 at the half. This game is very much still in doubt. Let's see if Katie & Co. can turn it up a notch.

Great game. Katie and Allison played great. If we can keep up this kind of intensity then the DePaul game is definately winnable. It is nice to finally win one and a nice accomplishment for the seniors. Had a few scary moments but pretty much controlled the 2nd half.

I think pulling off an upset of a 4-seed by a 13-seed is tougher on the girls side than the men because there is a such a huge distinction of talent in womens hoops. So I believe this gives the guys even more reason to believe they can do it.

Oh dear God-my heart is pounding so fast right now. Seeing that game is worth any reps my RA might give me for staying at home and not being back by curfew tonight.

Having watched a little of the DePaul/VaTech game while waiting to see if they were going to show any of the start of the LU game, I can tell you that the Sweet 16 is very much in our reach if we can keep Katie out of foul trouble.
Unfortunately, I see more C-USA womens basketball than I care to covering sports down here in Houston. And I can attest to the fact that DePaul isn't all that. They are a weak 5-seed who are ready to become road kill for us.

gotta agree there- I was tach'ing out at about 120 for the 3 min I got to watch!
*Tachycardia= rapid heart rate* sorry for the paramedic reference
SLY- Tech nearly beat that DePaul team right? Did you see any of that game?

Yeah, Va Tech should've won that game. They led up untilt he final seconds when DePaul hit a lucky shot and then the Lady Hokies (or whatever they call them these days) threw away the ball on a fastbreak with about 5 seconds to go that would've won it. For a team that shouldn't have even been in the tourney, they gave DePaul all they could handle.

It took getting a matchup with Penn State to finally get us in the win column in the Big Dance. By the way, is there any sport where Penn State is still good these days?
JoePa has run the football program into the ground and the mens hoops team has always sucked with the exception of a couple of years with that American-hating Brit named Amaechi.

I'm so happy!
We win!
By the way, I guess we owe VA Tech some thanks. Our pep band wasn't back from spring break, so VA Tech's band stayed after the DePaul loss and played for LU.
Hey, we need them to come back again...DePaul would be like, hey, haven't we seen you before?

We CAN win against DePaul, but it'll take a great effort on our part. I don't know if our ladies will stay as focused as they were tonight in the 2nd round-after all, their only goal was past the 1st round INTO the second round-and DePaul beat Tech (but only b/c Tech had a sorry first half) who beat us, and I know that we CAN beat DePaul, but the question is WILL we?
