Looks like since LU finished as the #2 seed in the Southeast region, they're getting an automatic bid to the Div II Nationional Tournament. Fans will be able to listen to the games on the internet at www.hockeysportsradio.comI think the games start on March 5...I'm not sure.

The Nationals for Division II club hockey. Great.
Hey, I heard the guys playing pick-up basketball in the Schilling Center are pretty good too.

Pessimist -- Don't hate the players, hate the game.
As for me, color me impressed. Back in the early years we would dominate all our competition and never get a sniff of the national tourney. Perhaps our guys are finally getting a little respect from up north.

hey PMS-amist, try a walk on the wild side for once and congratulate those who work hard and achieve a winning season- unusual in LU sports. Our team beat other collegiate hockey teams from big name schools- who cares how the league was organized or under what funding system? have NEVER understood the bashing of this club sport- sign of little minds I guess.

I heard that if LU doesn't win the national championship in hockey Lou Holtz will be named the new coach and next years team will play in the new facility named after the donor-Tim Lahaye. Is it true they are going to call it the Left Behind Ice Palace?

The games actually start March 2nd (tomorrow) and end on March 5th.
As far as pessimist is concerned, most big schools play club hockey, I think it' exciting to see LU compete at a National level. These guys are paying to go to LU and playing hockey on the side...their not taking money away from the other sports. Just as all of the other schools that play D-II club hockey. Hats off to the LU ice hockey team...good luck at nationals.
Go flames!

Yes, guest- in a strange twist of fate: I have been named the new AD, all of that which you spoke is TRUE and I am cancelling the mens' basketball season next year altogether.
Jim- exactly what I was trying to say re: EVERYONE playing club hockey.

Wow - a sport where Liberty has a better record than Pitt! I have to find out where Pitt plays - I had no idea that I could catch LU in my hometown (club sport or not). It is tough to catch LU if you live above the Mason-Dixon line. I did get a chance to see LU play Youngstown State in football last fall. LU did represent even though they lost. GO LU HOCKEY - show those Northern teams what its all aboot

Try living in Texas and catching any LU action in person. Other than a couple of road games at Baylor & Texas and a weekend thrashing at the hands of National Champion Rice in baseball, opportunities have been scarce in my 15 years in the Lone Star State.

Game 1:
Hot goalie helps Liberty over Davenport, 5-3 -Solid goaltending and defense helped Liberty hold off high powered Davenport snipers.
Next game: LU vs Wagner at 12:00 on Thurs! A win could put LU in the driver seat...I believe Indiana lost today...

Oustanding news! Thanks for the update. I guess we'll have to settle for hockey & womens hoops to sate our tourney appetite.

I didn't hear the broadcast. But in their defense, hockey is easily the toughest sport to call on the radio. It makes hoops look like a cakewalk.

"bad" doesn't even come close, nor does "awful", "hideous" or "completely unintelligible".
at one point in the 3rd period we were treated to : "and there's a shot! (pause) I mean, a pass- across the middle"
I won't even get into the mis-naming of players-
oh boy!

Well,
I'm glad you were able to listen to the game. I tried to listen to the first game and it didn't work.
Seems like they must have gotten the bugs worked out (at least technically speaking).
It's funny to listen to them doing the wrap-up at the end of the day...they're all hoarse from talking so much. One of the announcers has relatives in Madison Heights near Lynchburg.
