HF, i agree with you again. The BSC stepped up and sponsored football because we could not get in any other league. those reasons could be academics, which we are improving on, the fact that this is jerry's school, which not too long ago some of the A-10 football schools did not want that affiliation with us. It seems to me that the BSC is waiting to see how things pan out with all the conference shuffling. I do think commissioner kallander has been dragging his feet a bit, but the fact that we are courting some good DII schools is fine with me, then after all the shuffling is over we could pick up someboday else. We all know the BSC is not strong now, so lets not beat it to death. lets all hope that the powers that be will get us one if not two good schools and lets see what happens.

Well, based on the opinions of everyone here it looks like we are stuck in this conference right now as it stands. Why not make the most of it. Need to win all of the conference games this year, blowout the bottom feeders, play UConn tough, and most importantly win some good non-conference games. We could use the LU womens basketball team as an inspiration of some sort based on their performance the last 9 years and realize it is possible to force the conference weaklings to play to your level.

Actually, that's probably a bad example...the 'conference weaklings' haven't come close to playing at the level of LU's women's basketball... but at the same time, their success (especially this year) shows that even if the conference you are in is weak, a good team/program can overcome that and have success. When it is all said and done, it is the individual school that goes out and plays the game, not the conference...

Good point! I could say the same thing concerning the Winthrop mens hoops team. I seems like there is a big disparity in the computer ratings between them and everyone else in the conference.

maybe we should focus on getting Winthrop to add football rather than recruit any more schools. If they approach that program w/ the same intensity they put into MBB, they would definitely be a worthy opponent.

Thanks for dropping by our board, Ralph. AGS is one of my must-stops when I get online.
As for the Alliance, we have a thread on here addressing it. And while I agree that it makes too much sense not to pursue a merger with the Great West, it appears that it is far from a unanimous sentiment in Virginia. I have a feeling a lot of it comes from the East Coast bias that permeates I-AA football in the Mid-Atlantic region. There is quality football west of the Appalachians.
