I hate to see that for the coaches and their families. It will be tough Saturday knowing you don't have a job after the game. I pray they all land on their feet.

... I do hope things work out for Karcher and the rest of the coaching staff, and Dr. Park. I hope they find positions where they are happy and can utilize their skills...we will certainly need to pray for the whole staff...outgoing and incomming. Now...Just a couple of accomplishments that they did bring to LU in the last 6 years... 1. SAM GADO (GO GADO GO) 2. Beat Hofstra 3. Cool comeback agains VMI a couple of years ago... Best wishes to them as they move on P.S. How do we know any of these things are true (i.e. coaching staff leaving, AD resigning...I haven't seen anything on the official site).

Its normal in MOST job applications. You bring in a new regime- they have their people. Even the most well intentioned companies avoid mixing old and new except in rare circumstances- easy to "poison the well" if you will.

I'm sure they have ALREADY had a team meeting- or the seniors BETTER be in the process of setting one up.

Some members of the staff maybe given a shot to interview with the new head coach. But you can guess how that goes. I had to do that once myself. but instead of hanging around for the interview - I found another job at another school.

Well I hope the guys send Coach Karcher out on a winning note. I think it would speak volumes going into next year. If ever there was a situation where a team should lay down and play dead it's our team this Saturday. What would it say for these kids and their coaches to rise up, fight like heck and bring one home to close things out.

Don't you think that this gives the coaches a jump on finding another job......by letting them go before the Convention? Arkansas State announced over the P.A. that the coaches were fired during the second half of their last game. a couple of years ago. How hard would that be? Our prayers will be with Liberty and the new coaches, along with the old staff.

First of all... (insert the most over-the-top celebration you could possibly imagine given a thousand years to do so here) OK, I'm better now. ;D On a more serious note, although I am overjoyed to know that our football program finally has a future again,I am actually sad to see KoachKenKarcher leave. (gasp) (FoxNews starts reporting live from the scene) I actually like the man and think that he is the best coach in the NCAA... off the field.(hahaha LMBO ROFL made you think ;D) He ran a mostly clean ship that was actually up to LU standards in conduct. How many coaches could do that? I would actually like to see him stay on in some capacity... maybe as QB coach. Cannot wait to see who Pastor Falwell has lined up. So excited!

Just so everyone knows, the reason nothing was posted on www.LibertyFlames.com early (Thursday night/Friday morning) is that everything has been handled by University Relations and not athletic media relations, who handles that site. The News and Advance was promised the exclusive on Friday morning and therefore, nothing was released or posted until then. Also, the post that ended up on the website was written by University Relations and was only posted when they allowed it to be. Nobody was ducking phone calls! I work in there and the phone rang off the hook all day.

I am worried that they will get some top asst coach like they did with Hankinson. I think we all know how well that worked. Although I get what you mean with that (and I'm not trying to call you out)-I think it's definitely worth considering the fact that there are some good assistant coaches out there that would be an AMAZING asset to our team ESPECIALLY if it were a big name coach. Honestly, we don't really have anywhere to go but up from here-I guess we could potentially lose to a D-II school next season and go 0-11, but we had pretty much the worst season EVER this season and I will pray for God to eliminate the football program if we do worse than what we have done. I also think it's kind of silly to generalize like that in any regard be it a top assistant coach, a D-II coach, or Lou Holtz himself-it's poor logic to say "Since we had a crappy situation before-it would be the very same if we got the same category of coach (top asst.)" Like I said, not trying to call you out or offend-just don't agree. I hope we get the biggest and the best out there. I'm sure Jerry's ready to put up the big bucks, bc I'm sure he's embarassed at the situation of things (especially since he said he was the one who made the final decision on KK's extension). I want to see us dominating our competition, period-whether it's a high school coach from the boondocks or a Lloyd Carr from U-M (bc after today's game he could be looking for a job BOO OSU!) and I'd like to see it happen while still keeping our values.

had a thought today (happens once in a great while) that no matter WHO inherits the reins- recruiting at D1AA LU is NOT gonna be as easy as it would be at, say Notre Dame or FSU or any D1A school.
we have talent- but maybe in smaller amounts- so its going to be a challenge.
