It's official - VMI on October 1, 2005 is a NOON start for TV. CCU on the 20th is probably being moved to Saturday they 22nd. The two home games I planned to see this year just went right out of the window!
Secondly, I talked to a very nice yong lady in the ticket ofice who gave some insight into our web site woes. we are outsourcing the web management component. we have to pay for updates over a certain number. You do the math. More updates - more $$$ out of pocket.
Ticket prices have gone up and that is not reflected on the website. Game times have changed and that is not reflected on the website. I offered feedback to the web masters of the site and got no response. Why do we even have an athletics website if we can't make it into a useful tool for information?

Did you mention that they could update this information for FREE on this board?

I didn't - but I can't see our board ever having any remote relationship to the ADept because the ADept would be limited in the control of content. Even if they were slipping information to us "incognito" I don't think they would use this channel for disseminating information. This board is the one thing that keeps me in the loop being out of town. The official site needs help.

HF, dont give up the ship yet. the AD'S are still talking about the CCU game situation. that does stink about the VMI game being moved to noon. i had planned on being there, but previous plans will make that not happen. who is doing the telecast of the game?

I'm not suggesting that this site be endorsed or officially affiliated with the Athletic Department. Just mentioning that this would be a place where an individual could get word out.
Perhaps El Scorcho could help the department setup their own site with Prototype's help.

I knew that was what you were getting at and I agree. The only consideration would be - who is responsible for getting the right word out? It would have to come from an inside source you would think. I dodn;t know if the Adept would be thrilled with posting official happenings through an unsanctioned message board. In principle though - you are right.

LU athletic media relations confrims that the game is 12 noon. so the mailer from LUALUMNI.COM is not correct. nothing like messing up this new informational source.

Beat you by a full minute, bigsmooth.
Yeah, it didn't take long for that mailer to be outdated.
I'm curious what television H-burg is referring to. Did Comcast, CSTV or some other regional deal pick it up? With C-SET gone, I figured television wouldn't be as much of a concern for scheduling.

They did not give me any info on who is carrying the game.

it could be WDBJ-7 that might be doing the game...sometimes they will do a local game... are just a guess though.

VMI's athletic dept. says the game is at 12 noon, but it is not definite that it is on TV as of now...just in the works. Comcast would be the carrier of the game.

I think the TV exposure is great - just a little bummed I'll miss it. My son's birthday is on October 22 - if they move the CCU game from Thursday to Saturday then I'll only make it to UConn this year. I should just take the whole day off and sulk :>)
