Earlier today, we blew by the 15-thousand post count number. Frankly for a school our size, that's pretty amazing in the relatively short time we've had a board.
As some of you may have heard through the grapevine or noticed in the ticker on the front page, we are planning on some cool developments in the very near future. We are building a new board that will allow us more freedom of control and put us on par with boards just about any school in America. We're still building the site and we'll let everyone know when it is cool to come onboard.
The new site will be a natural progression for The Firehouse community. We'll continue to keep this board up as long as Proboards will allow it as a resource. But I believe you are going to enjoy what we have in store for 2006.

Just want to follow up on Sly Fox's post. These are indeed exciting times for this board and Liberty athletics. When I started this board, I never dreamed it would be this active. As much as I would like to take credit for that, the credit goes to all of you that contribute to the board discussion...especially those of you that spend way too much time here (you all know who you are). Special thanks go out to Sly Fox for taking the board to the next level and to Chris Lang, Coach Dunton and prototype for giving us a look inside the program.
I look forward to seeing you all on the new board.

thanks Mark- you got the whole thing off the ground in the first place. Future generations of computer nerds and old hags are in your debt!
Actually, in all seriousness- this was an impressive venture- to my knowledge, the first "real" sports message board in the history of a young but hopefully up-and-coming D1 sports program.
Thanks again, see you on the other side!
*the comment about those on here way too much is a little ironic considering who made the first 2 posts of this particular thread. Pathetic!

Now, if we could only get Scout or Rivals to give us a slot on their site. I guess we get our scoops elsewhere.

LUconn --- We probably could get Scout or Rivals to add us. But we would lose a lot of our editorial control. Bobby Burton of Rivals is friend of mine from way back. But I think we'll be better off doing our own show. Many of the elements of individual Rivals/Scout boards that make them attractive will be on display on our new site once we get it fully operational. That probably won't be immediately since our primary focus is simply getting the board up in time for Big South basketball's run for the title. But trust me when I say we have big plans.
And let me echo PAmedic's sentiments about how much we appreciate Mark getting the ball rolling on this site. Its not enough to have a vision if no one is willing to step up and take some action. Mark took some action on our school's behalf and we'll always be grateful.
