First of all my brother is getting married at 11 AM Saturday, October 1 in Roanoke. Second - my wife and I are going to the wedding and leaving the 3 kids with their grandparents. Third the reception is from 1-3 PM. So...
Flames and VMI that night baby!!!! Yes! No Kids for the weekend. Yes! Taking off Friday. Yes! If only I could get someone to pay for our lodging and meals!
Ordering two reserved seats on Monday for the game at $7 each. Yes! Love the ticket prices! Plus I'm going to the CCU game later that month. If I didn't live so far away I would go ahead and get season tickets. A family of 5 can get season tickets for $250 ($50 each). You can hardly go to Blacksburg for one game at that price. As a matter of fact - if I get to the point where I can go at least 3 times a year to see the Flames - I'll break down and get season tickets even if I don't use them to give to the athetic department.
Life is good. Anyone else going to be there for VMI?

I will come back home for the home football games on weekends. HBF and anyone else on the board that I have not met, you need to look me up when you get to town. I would love to talk with you guys in person! Hit me on the IM on this board with contact info and I will give you mine. You need to tell me your real names though. I am not going to be calling you guys by your screen names at a football game. "BigSmooth that was some play huh?" "Sly Fox did you see that?" See it sounds silly. Anyway, holla at your boy.

I'm jealous, guys. I'll just have to settle for being at college games down here in Texas every Saturday afternoon & night. We need to schedule some Southland or SWAC schools so I can get into the action as well.

SCAR - I agree, I look forward to meeting all of you guys. I'll be sure to IM you with my contact info. I usually make it down for a couple of basketball games as well. It takes me about 5 hours to drive but all of my family is still in central VA.

I'll be sure to look you up. Right now I know I'll be down for CCU and VMI - maybe more who knows. I wish we were playing Lehigh and Villanova still. Those are easy games for me to get too!
I look forward to meeting you.

Could be but I doubt it. The entire Homecoming weekend and events is built around this football game beign at 7 PM. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest differently but I will ask when I call the ticket office today. I know it's early but I still think I'm OK.

My brother lives and works in Roanoke now. Loves it there. I know I'm coming for VMI and CCU - already locked up. I like the idea of a fire house tailgate party. I'm in. The CCU game might be perfect for it on a Thursday night. we can trade contact information and get together. I gave SCAR all of my info. I look forward to meeting you.

I am not going to waste my time going to that game. VMI is a pushover. They didn't win a single game last year. They play a descent schedule but that is about it. It looks like a typical easy win for LU homecoming. It least it better be.

Waste of time? How bad can going to a football game in the Fall be? Plus - it's VMI! Come on man let's get some good karma going :>)

Well I guess that any football game would be considered entertaining no matter who the opposition is. The game should fill the stadium since it is homecoming and with a team from Virginia coming in. Hopefully we can get a big early lead and bring in the subs.
