It wouldn't appear that Markus Vick's approach would coincide with "the Liberty way"

As soon as saw yesterday that Vick would be trying to transfer to a I-AA if he got the boot, I knew someone would post one of these threads. Thanks for the chuckle.

;D You're welcome Sly. It was purely meant tongue-in-cheek. Just to see if anyone would run with it. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the LU team.

Where do you think he'll end up? Think he'll go to a HBCU to get the exposure or somewhere else?

I get the impression that he thinks he's ready for the league. I'm sure there will be agents telling him that his time is now. But having a big brother up there probably will give him a better perspective on what it takes.

According to the Virginian-Pilot, Vick is going pro.
He was approached in a resturaunt and said, "It's not a problem, I'll just go to the next level, baby"
Take it how you want.

he's an arrogant you know what. But thats what we breed in the NCAA nowadays. Someone will take a chance on him. I don't think he's ready, physically or mentally- but what do I know.

As a prospective sports agent - I would never represent Vick. Integrity is everything - and he has zero.

Two days after declaring his intention to enter the NFL draft, Marcus Vick was arrested on Monday and charged with three counts of brandishing a firearm, the Suffolk, Va., police department said in a statement. Vick, 21, turned himself in after police in Suffolk, Va., issued a warrant for his arrest, saying Vick pointed a weapon at a teenage male and two others in the parking lot at a McDonalds, the statement said. The junior quarterback had been kicked off the team at Virginia Tech on Friday for his moves on and off the field, including an incident in the Jan. 2 Toyota Gator Bowl, when he was caught on tape stomping on the left calf of Louisville All-American defensive end Elvis Dumervil after a tackle. Vick was suspended from school in 2004 because of several legal problems, and came under intense scrutiny this week after replays of his actions against Dumervil. Vick claimed it was accidental, but hurt his cause by claiming to have apologized to Dumervil, the NCAA sacks leader. Dumervil said he received no such apology. The last straw came Friday, even as Beamer was preparing to offer Vick the option of accepting a two-game suspension or deciding to leave Virginia Tech. A fax sent to Steger's office disclosed that Vick had been stopped for driving 38 mph in a 25 mph zone and driving with a revoked or suspended license on Dec. 17. Vick had told Beamer about the ticket for driving on a suspended license on Dec. 19, Beamer said, but had never mentioned to anyone that he'd also been caught speeding. Vick's license had been taken away in August 2004 when he was cited for reckless driving and marijuana possession, but had been reinstated until a friend driving a car owned by Vick was pulled over and found to not have insurance, Beamer said. In 24 career games, Vick threw for 2,868 yards, 19 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He also ran 184 times for 492 yards and six TDs. A $10,000 bond was set for Vick.
I hope he never touches a football field again, what a moron, he needs to be put behind bars, 10 chances is enough in my mind. I hope that Michael doesn't bail him out and send 10K

ya know...we could have overlooked him going to fast in his car....and over look him having some drugs that takes his mind and pain away from football...and overlooked him giving the bird to fans....and overlooked him trying to crush a players knee....but as a Liberty fan we MUST stand up and say this is enough...pointing a gun at some 17 year old kids is just to far...if you would have just beatin them up with your fists we could still accept you, but we wash our hands with talks of you transferring to LU
(please tell me you picked up on the sarcasim)

It's a shame to see someone with his talent continue to make poor choices. If he can't handle the temptations of life in Blacksburg or Hampton, he will never survive in a major NFL city.

The sad thing about the Marcus Vick situation is that Marcus needs LU more than LU needs Marcus - he just doesn't know it. That kid has some serious work to do in terms of accountability.

Thank you sir. Good news on Jennings for LU. I thought the kid had potential to be outstanding at Pitt - I think he'll be fantastic in the BigSouth. I hope you've been doing well. I'm back with a new attitude - no more complaining about the direction of our football program.

Dont worry about the 'tude. You've got your griping license should it not work out. It has been a pretty exciting offseason though. I wouldnt mind watching some spring practice.

Can't wait to see the team play in the fall. We will see what happens. Vick is in need of Christ right now. He made several bad decisions and it is costing him just about everything. It is ashamed to waste all of that talent on the football field.
